Can't ping/telnet into Routerboard 532...

Sat Apr 29, 2006 4:07 am

Alright...I'm stumped...

I've a RouterBoard 532 configured in a PTP with another RB 532 for backhauling Internet traffic. The LAN side of the RB has IP address 192.168.30.4/24 and is connected to a Cisco 1750 router. The Cisco router has an ip of 192.168.30.5/24. I've a straight through cable coming from the POE to the FastEthernet interface of the Cisco 1750. IP Classless routing is enable in the Cisco BUT I can't ping or Telnet into the Mikrotik from within a Telnet session on the Cisco.

The PTP is backhauling Internet traffic flawlessly so I know that the Cisco is communicating with Mikrotik properly.

Any ideas?

Rebooted the RB and Cisco to see if negotiation was an issue. Cisco negotiated at 100fdx with RB.

Thanks!

Do you do bridge for the PTP wireless?

You have to implement WDS or EoIP to make bridge on Mikrotik wireless client.

Yes. We do have a bridge configured using WDS and the PTP works fine. I'm trying to ping the LAN interface that's connected DIRECTLY to the Cisco interface.

Thanks for the reply. Any ideas?

My mistake...The RB's had no default gateway. Sorry for the post... :(
