packet loss with ethernet cable

Tue Apr 29, 2014 11:12 am

I tested speed between rb 2011 UAS-RM and SXT G 5HPnD r2

I have used the Original poe injector that delivered by sxt (gigabit poe)

I tested with different cables but i see match packet loss.

See the printscreens a made

Is this normal?

I assume that these (UDP!) packets are dropped because the CPU is on 100% utilization.
Do a TCP test test instead, You will see lower speeds, but no drops.

BTW: A speed test between these boards is useless. You are testing the CPU on both boards, instead of its throughput. If you want to do a good test: Connect a PC on either side of the link and use iperf to test the speed.

+1 but do a speed test either side of two products mentioned will mean using the wlan side of the SXT G, so test will run from ether to wireless?
