Request: DC Lugs on integrated units

Mon Jun 23, 2014 3:26 pm

More WISPs are moving to DC plants at their tower sites. It would be rather convenient for integrated Mikrotik devices to come with DC lugs for easier integration into these environments. I'm referring to products like the CCRs, RB1100s, RB2011s, etc.

These do have DC power jacks. What is a "DC lug"?

something like powerpoles : http://www.powerwerx.com/anderson-powerpoles/

it's cheaper with this : Image

We now mod all our RB493 boards to have poe out on the 8 ethernet ports, the problem is that we take te power from the power connector, this goes well untill we have a voltage drop and equipment uses more amps du to the low voltage. in this case the standard power connector melts away ...

I could not find any external DC power connectors of any kind on any CCRs.

No, you're right. Your original post had "I'm referring to products like the CCRs, RB1100s, RB2011s, etc." RB2011s do have DC power.
