Here we go again.

Switch by definition just connects wires. This means that whatever you put in, will go out. Same speed.

So ... Throughput and switching capacity is the same, as the number of ports. Wire speed

The very nice, but in future it will be very nice if MikroTik can write in spec this info, for example HP and CISCO have those lines in spec.
Now i will order 2 CRS

His question is very, very valid. Blowing him off with a smartass answer is very, very unprofessional.

A good network admin or network engineer will always look for switching capacity of a device. In cheap(er) 24-48 port switch designes it is common to have 2 switch groups with a limited amount of bandwidth between the 2 groups.

Switching capacity of the switch chip(s) used and the interconnects between them should always be listed if you expect your product to be taken seriously by network professionals.

The other metric that will rear it's head at you is going to be latency, it will be important when you get into 6-8 sfp+ switches.

It's very good idea to make something like this:

http://uk.tp-link.com/products/details/ ... G5428#spec

because technical specification is pretty needed for offers, tenders, etc.
