Are there any plans for variations of the FTC?

As there's no DC power jack, it has to be POE-IN, which means the injector would have to be out at the other end of the copper link. I've got a lot of situations where I have power & fibre in one area, but would like to power a nearby AP via POE..

another model with a DC power jack and then POE-OUT would be perfect for those situations

The product itself is great. Everything that you need for FTTH deployment. As normis said, it has to be simple, to keep the price low.
We have lots of places where this will deploy outside customers premises and bolt on directly to existing Ethernet installations. The design is great and it happened to be made by MT!
I'd only like to suggest adding some holder for fiber splice inside the enclosure. These boxes will mostly terminate long fiber runs, so having a separate termination box and using short patch cord is less practical and elegant than keeping everything in one PoE powered box. Sure there are ready made drop cables with connectors already in-place, but they are more expensive, bulky and less convenient to work with. At least some strong fixation of entering fiber would be nice, like zip-ties or something similar.

Also, it'd be nice to have different versions of this product, for example: FTC11G with integrated 1.25gbps/1310TX/1550RX module, FTC11FE - with 155M/1310TX/1550RX module, FTC11S - with SFP slot just as it is now. Just a suggestion though

We have tried the following SFPs in the FTC without success.
TP-LINK: TL-SM321A, TL-SM321B, TL-SM311LS.

Has anyone else had joy with non-Mikrotik SFPs?

I think you can. But it will only work in 1000M mode. I've noticed that FTC works in similar fashion as RB260. It doesn't take anything less than 1G.

I've tried a few non-MT 1.25G SFP modules, they work ok in FTC.

MikroTik, please make some more robust fiber fixation. These devices will be super cool with your new GPON SFP!

It does support non-MT modules. Unfortunately it only supports 1.25G modules.

I have a problem with the RBFTC11 with the s+DA0001 and CRS328-24P-4S+RM with manual settings : auto-negotiation disabled, port speed 1G, FD. the link with this devices doesn't work.

but if I use a S-RJ01 for testing the FTC converter work fine

and if I use the CRS router with the s+DA0001 connected to a RB3011 work fine

Anyone used the RBFTC11 converter with the s+DA0001 ?

RBFTC11 is build on Qualcom chip which is "dumb" and/or "stupid" (or it might need a better eeprom config?) ,anyway the Qualcomm chip won't talk (it will link up ok, but no data will go through) when you put the SFP module on other-side into SFP+ or SFP/SFP+ (port supporting both 1G/10G SFPs) cage.

I did run some tests not only with RBFTC11, but with popular and cheap mc220s (10/100/1000 to SFP converter ; which I have in 2 versions: Realtek-based and Qualcomm-based), see my post: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=123169&p=677527#p677481

To sum it up: the Realtek-based media converters are the most versatile one, while Qualcomm-based are .......... in my opinion.
