Awesome for home users.

@rzirzi: My current CCR1009-8G-1S-1S without SFP/Ethernet ideling around 18W and 23W with 2 SFP's + 5 Ethernet Connections. Most time my CCR running with one fan, i thinks that the PC model without fans is around 1-2W less.

Passively cooled device with speed controlled fan? Is this some new definition of passive cooling?

Darn, I almost wish I had not bought a 850Gx2. Anyway it will do for now. Only downside I can see is the low amount of NAND-storage compared to the 850Gx2 and the 450G

Now that this is officially up on the Mikrotik site, I'm wondering if someone from Mikrotik could comment if this passively cooled model would be a better option than the other CCR1009 models for solar powered sites? How much difference should we expect to see in power consumption compared to the fan based models? Is the operating temperature range greater, lower, or the same as the other CCR1009 models?

I was wondering with the temperature too under heavy load.

Btw when can we expect the router availability in Jakarta, Indonesia?

according to specs it has a 1ghz cpu that is 200mhz less than "normal" ccr1009 surely its to lower the power consumption.

will be nice to have power consumption info

Didn't notice the CPU speed. If you are looking at "Performance test results" table they are having same performance BUT I am not sure if Mikrotik copy paste the table lol

CPU reduction shouldn't matter to me. The CCR1009-8G-1S-1S I have is an absolute beast from hell. It's CPU changes between 0 and 2% during peak network times. It's like it's laughing at everything I throw at it. I love it! It replaced an RB1200 that had its CPU average around 25-35% during peak times with the same config. I'm foaming at the mouth for a CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+PC. However, I'm worried it might be a bit deeper with those heatsink fins sticking out the back. Might not fit in my outdoor enclosures. It seems like Mikrotik just keeps making their routers deeper and deeper. Kinda wish they would try and stick with the same form factor...

Would somebosy clear, can it work with two SPF modules (like S-31DLC20D)?
In other words, in this router SFP+ sloth is compatible with SFP modules, to build ring?

I am considering upgrading to a 250mbps download link at home, so I was thinking about getting this because it is fanless.

But I am disappointed by its ability to perform with whatever VPN method I might be forced to use compared to the RB1100AHx2.

But the RB1100 is out of the question because of the fans and it also seems like expensive old tech (not old architecture).

Can you be a little more specific on what you mean by that? Both of them support ALL VPN methods RouterOS has to offer...

I am thinking about GRE/IPSEC for example, because GCM is not hardware-based at the moment, and there is not roadmap for it.

Now with the new units it looks like they are ready to be used with a -48v DC environment as-well ? It had been great if the new units could have some real screw terminals for power and not just the dc adapter input.

They had been great for us at least if they had that.

Where did you get this information about GCM?

Yes, it is not clear in the documentation so I just verified this for a customer. Both of the CCR1009 1S+ models link up with a standard SM SFP (S-31DLC20D) in the SFP+ ports and a SM fiber connection. I also checked an SFP+ port to an SFP port and that works as well in the CCR1009 with 1S+.
