deauth problem

Sat Sep 23, 2006 11:40 am

I to have a deauth issue. RB532 with 2 x NMP-8602. The links are short 2km max and the signal is approx. -54 dbm. The card that gives issue is in AP-bridge mode with 2 clients, RB112 with same radio card. It's not a signal strength issue in this case. The clients drop every now and again, it takes about 10 mins for the link to stabilize again. It's a client network in bridge mode using WDS, ap-bridge-station, wds dynamic mode as per the mikrotik wiki example.

log snippet.

Is this still a known issue with these cards?

I think so...i'm seeing tons of this issue with 8602s and CM9s

either no beacons, join timeout, or deauth....take your pick..

anyone ever resolve this? or anykind of fix?
tks

contact support with your supout.rif files if you have this problem. `deauth` itself means nothing, we have to know more

I had this exact same problem this weekend. Problem started on ROS v2.9.38, persisted on 2.9.42 and 2.9.27 so I don't think it's a version bug.

I think it might be hardware problem at the AP, or a problem with the CPE.

I'm not so sure this is a hardware problem now. Since my last post, this has happened on two other AP's, all using SR2 cards for the broadcast AP.

According to the definition of that error, this happens when the CPE thinks it is associated, but the AP thinks that it is not. Thus it sends the de-auth packet to the CPE.

It seems like, in all cases, the CPE are EZ3+ or LS2.

I'm also still waiting for a response from support, i sent an email over a day ago with my supout.rif.

I had similar strange behaviour at a client, just couldn't pin it down. Good signal, good ping and suddenly just dead in the air. After about a week of scratching heads, replacing cards, etc. I found out he has a wireless video transmitter from his upper floor to his lower floor. Switched that bastard off and all was 100%. Since then found another one at someone else's neighbour.
Those transmitters are evil!
