I have a problem while connected wirelessly to "RB2011UiAS-2HnD"Router

Sun Aug 07, 2016 3:31 am

Hi,

- If I am connected wirelessly to the RB2011UiAS-2HnD router, I faced the problem.

- I have been using TP-Link Modem/Router in the "bridge mode" as a transparent modem. ( I.e. I reset the TP-Link Mdoem/Router to be in 'bridge mode' and then connected the DSL cable to TP-Link, and then I used a two-head Ethernet cable to be connected from one of its ends to the Eth 1 port on the RB2011UiAS-2HnD router, and the other end to be the one LAN ports of TP-link Modem/Router). Then, I setup the RB2011UiAS-2HnD router via PPPoE using Winbox V6.18
- If I am connected directly to the TP-Link Modem/Router without using the RB2011UiAS-2HnD router , then there is no a problem while connecting Wirelessly.
- I have Windows 10 Home 64-bit.
- I have now Windows 10 Home 64-bit installed, even though this problem happens with windows 7.
- I have HP Pavilion Dv6 laptop
- I have Wireless Network adapter - Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter
- I have LAN adapter (Ethernet) - Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
Image
- I have No problem while connected to Ethernet port with Ethernet cable. I only have a problem while connected Wirelessly.
- Windows 10 recognized all Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller once the installation was completed. I.e, I have NOT installed any drivers for Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller downloaded from the manufacturer website.

- While connected wirelessly to RB2011UiAS=2HnD router , then after each two minutes there is no internet access occurring, and then a yellow mark shown in front the WiFi icon of Laptop, and I get disconnected automatically from the WiFi network. This happens continually about after each two minutes. I am connected to Home network via this router:

SSID: MikroTik-BCE3DB
Protocol: 802.11n
Security type: WPA-Personal
IPv4 address: 192.168.88.254
IPv4 DNS Servers: 192.168.88.1
Manufacturer: Broadcom
Description: Broadcom 802.11n Network Adapter
Driver version: 6.30.223.256
Physical address: ‎E0-2A-82-F9-33-D9.

Details:
Once the internet access gets lost, then there is a yellow mark shown in the WiFi icon(screen shot below). After that, the connection to WiFi network gets disconnected automatically. However, if I have chosen 'connect automatically to Wireless Network'' while connecting to Wireless router in the first time, then I became automatically connected after half a minute since the first disconnection.(disconnection.... then connection, and so on).
On the other hand, if I have NOT chosen 'connect automatically to Wireless Network'' while connecting to Wireless router in the first time, then to be connected again, I'll need to reconnect to the Wireless router.

I tried running "Network troubleshooter", and I found this error.

My questions are:
1- Even if the internet got lost(no internet access- yellow mark in front the WiFi icon), why am then I disconnected? What lets Wireless connection be disconnected????.

2- After all troubleshooting attempts, the problem is still. What is the solution?

3- I have read thishttp://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Wi ... Debug_Logs. However, I could NOT enable the wireless debug logs. How could I execute such commands below(Where I can execute them?)
[admin@MikroTik] > /system logging
[admin@MikroTik] system logging> add topics=wireless,debug action=memory

This is the screen shot of Log taken from WinBox

Sounds like you have a DHCP issue. Check the DHCP server settings and make sure the clients can get an IP.

Thanks a lot,

What you meant with DHCP settings. Do you mean with this

Could anyone please reply to me?

As described before, that the problem is ONLY while connected wirelessly to RB2011UiAS-2HnD router, and once the internet access got lost, then there is a yellow mark in front the the WiFi icon, and then get disconnected, and then get connected again, and so on. This happens each minute.
What that user meant with DHCP settings. Does he mean with what is shown in that screen shot posted before? But there is no DHCP settings can be set up?

Remove WiFi configuration in the computer and create it from the beggining.
The WiFi configuration is not saved in the computer to be removed. However, the settings is saved in the router.
In windows 10, WiFi configuration cannot be removed form the PC. All what is saved in the computer is history for the wireless networks names I was connected to.
Image
All what I can do with WiFi configured and saved/recognized by Windows 10 is forgetting it as shown in the screen shot above.
I have reset the router and then setup the WiFi configuration from the beginning. But, that made no difference.

A. PLEASE do not cite full post, especially just under cited post. Most of us could follow thread without such citations. Current default forum's layout is so long-winded that such citation adds another 2 meters to scroll. You have been asked for not doing it many times. PLEASE REMEMBER IT.

B. Win 10 - do you see button "Forget" ... it deletes remembered settings you are calling "history"

C. Is wireless interface bridged with your LAN ones ?

D. Have you checked if computer connected only with cable works ? "Only" means that computer has WiFi switched off.

E. Exclamation yellow mark means that Windows cannot reach some "magic address" which is used to check if Internet is working. It sometimes could be displayed for a long time even if you can reach Internet without problems.

Nice to see you again together with some real device in hands. Congratulations to your big step forward.

For export you need to open terminal window and write the export command there. You can get everytime hint what commands or parameters are available by hitting the tab key.

Your problem might be solved by extending the dhcp lease time period to let say 3 days instead 10 minutes.

Check what happens to continuous ping from the pc to the router over wifi when problem occurs.

As you created ppoe interface and used quickset, your router is jeopardised because the firewall rules are normally relevant against the ether1 and not against the newly created interface. Correct it.

Search the forum for relevant topics and try the suggestions already written there, before you ask any questions.

Read the manual too.

Questions like "what is export" are easily answered by Google. Don't forget to use it!

1- Note I have been faced with a problem disconnecting and reconnecting from/to the WiFi network while connected to MikroTik router. However, while connected directly to TP-Link( using TP-link router/modem as the router without using Mikrotik), then I have not been faced with any problem at all.

2- This problem appears recently, Though I am not sure 100%, I think when installing Windows 10.

3- Could you please be a little more detailed how to extend the dhcp lease time period to let it as you say 3 days instead 10 minutes?

ros is RouterOS, use system / packages to check for updates. But we need to see your full config to determine the problem, the terminal export output is needed.

You need to make the wireless activities you want to log and after that you have to see the log. I am afraid you haven't seen it...

Thanks a lot,

1-I will reiterate my problem while connected only wirelessly to Mikrotike router, although I get connected correctly to internet without problem, after a short time, I am faced with first 'no internet access' shown on the Wireless network name, and then the exclamation mark "!" shown on the WiFi icon, and then I get automatically disconnected from the Wireless network. After about 2 minutes, I get connected automatically to wireless network, and get access to internet, and the problem repeats again, and so on.

2- I don't think the problem is related to RouterOS version(my current version is: 6.18. Or otherwise, I will be faced with the same problem while connected with a wired cable.

3- How I can export the logs to a memory. I can enable the wirless debug logs by executing such commands below as in the screen shots posted before---- However, after executing them, there is no log file exported to a memory?????
[admin@MikroTik] > /system logging
[admin@MikroTik] system logging> add topics=wireless,debug action=memory

4- This is my DHCP lease time while only connected wirelessly to MikroTik router. To be honest with you, I don't figure out how changing DHCP lease time will make difference as long as even there is no difference in the contents of DHCP while connected wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable . Also, Why have I not been faced with the problem while connected with an Ethernet cable although I have never ever changed DHCP lease time?

Such discussion is just delaying the resolution time. Try what was suggested and read the manual about the things you are going to change. Otherwise you will learn nothing .

From your brief words 'FRFM', I knew that you are irritated by my questions or lack of knowledge. However, I have not yet read the manual for two reasons.
1- there is an electricity outage occurs always in my own hometown
2- I have never ever been faced with such a wireless connection problem at all. This problem is recently. Even I am guessing that probelm is related to Windows 10 installed.

Please just DO RTFM to complete lack of knowledge.

1 - do not be silly ... outgages do not let you read manual since last year ?
2 - have you checked your net with Windows 7 or Windows 8 or just with smartphone to verify if Windows 10 is "guilty" ?

Are you really so not quick-witted to not check your net with different devices ? As we remember you want to make commercial net ... how do you want to resolve problems ?

1. Just RTFM. It is must-have condition.
2. Just look for another WiFi device for tests. It is must-have condition if you do not know which device is defective.

And please do it before you will be "thanking a lot" next time. We see that there is no your real engagement. You are just waiting for full assistance.

To be more detailed, when I am connected wirelessly to MikroTik router, and then when I am faced with that problem 'wireless disconnection', then this error appearing to me screen shot below.
Image

When I trying to get connected again to MirkTik router via WinBox, this error appearing to me.(screen shot below)
Image
However, after a short time, when I tried connecting to the Router via WinBox wirelessly, then I could connect to it, and trying to check the log file to see what might be causing the disconnection from the wireless network in the last session. So, I found this information was shown in the log (screen shot below)
Image

In the next wireless disconnection and connection attempt, this information was shown in the log (screen shot below)

Set the group key update interval to 1h in wireless security profile. Use ip address instead mac for winbox whenever it is possible. It is much more stable.

1- Although I have never ever been faced with the wireless disconnection issue, I have never ever set the group key update interval to 1h in wireless security profile.

2- Do you mean with set 'Set the group key update interval to 1h in wireless security profile' as shown in the screen shot below:
The group key update in wireless security profile.JPG
3- What did you mean with "Use ip address instead mac for winbox whenever it is possible". Do you mean I should click on the three dots, and select to connect to Router via WinBox by using the ip instead of MAC as shown in the screen shot below
Connecting to MikroTik WinBox.JPG
4- could you please let me know why there are logs exported to a memory although I have executed the commands as discussed in the manual (I posted the screen shots before)

1 not a question.
2 yes. You will need to create own security profile as the default is not changeable and use it then in the wlan config instead default one.
3 yes.
4 do not understand.

Suggesting to update ros, consequently the firmware and use winbox 3.4.

Why are you asking for the things that you can easily try?

Thanks a lot,
Could you please answer my points below to address this issue?

1- You told me to 'Set the group key update interval to 1h in wireless security profile" and another member told me to change 'DHCP lease time'
To be honest with you, I have never ever changed either suggestions, and I wasn't faced with Wireless disconnection issue in the past. However, Now, you suggest me to 'Set the group key update interval to 1h in wireless security profile'. --- If setting 'the group key update to value other than 1h in wireless security profile' might be causing the issue, then why I hadn't been faced with issue in the past, although I have never Set the group key update interval to 1h in wireless security profile'

2- Also, Why have I not been faced with disconnection issue while connected with an Ethernet cable although I have never ever changed DHCP lease time nor 'Set the group key update interval to 1h in wireless security profile' ?

3- I have read the manual, and it is said I can enable the wirless debug logs by executing such commands below. However, after executing them, as in the screen shots below---- , there is no log file exported to a memory?????
[admin@MikroTik] > /system logging
[admin@MikroTik] system logging> add topics=wireless,debug action=memory

4- You meant with "Suggesting to update ros, consequently the firmware and use winbox 3.4." with checking an updates for RouterOS via WinBox as in this screen shot below, I think that my RouterOS firmware is 6.18, and Winbox loader is V:2.2.18. So, when I downloaded and upgraded the RouterOS into V: 6.36.2, and rebooted the Router, I still see RouterOS version as '3.4' as in this screen shot below
Image

5- My WinBox loader version is V:2.2.18. How to find the WinBox 3.4?

Could you be so kind and do not waste our time and troll forum asking same questions again and again ?

PLEASE DO FIND someone (friend/neighbour/cousin/anybody) using computer with Windows not in version 10 to check if:

A. Your problem is with Windows version 10 ?
B. Your problem is with your computer/drivers/computer configuration ?

or

C. Check it with your/mother's/friend's/cousin's/anyone's smartphone/tablet ... with any device different from your laptop.

P.S.
Are you really so lazy or unfamiliar with Internat that you are not able to do this: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=mikrotik+winbox#seen ? Is it really so hard to figure it out ?

P.P.S.
Are you blind that you do not see button "Download & Upgrade" on your own screenshot ? Are you able to figure out something like this http://lmgtfy.com/?q=mikrotik+ros+upgrade and read the content of the very first link ?

P.P.S.
Please consider this post as pre-warning ... you are really wasting our time ... once more you ask same question without answering our questions or trying our suggestion or showing results of your hardware tests you can be banned despite the fact that you are from Middle East's poor country with permanent outgages.

BartoszP, even I understand your concern, I don't think that such blackmailing is good idea. How do you want to punish acooperator if he doesn't get better? Don't you think he already is punished enough by the fact how poorly he works and what results he gets? He doesn't need more. Leave him alone, give him a hint if you are willing and let him to process it on his own. If he succeeded, great. If not, doesn't hurt us....
If you believe he deserves something, give him negative points but do not ban him just because his mental processes are extraordinary. He doesn't harm generally on this forum, staying just in this thread and trying to get some support he really needs.
Be glad we can observe his very long and complicated learning process and learn with him. At least I am.

Jarda,
I understand your point of view, agree with you but ... :-) does negative points change his trolling style ? Does he know what they are and what they are for ?
IMHO only ban could persuade him to read and understand what we write to him. What more could be done ? He does not even click direct links and does not do simplest direct commands. He does not answer simplest questions.
Banning cuts him from the source of knowledge from "this splendid forum" so I think that could convince him to change his beahaviour especially that he at last invested his money.

Yes, it is quite interesting, not to say "funny", to watch his learning processes but there should be some "stop" point.

Thanks a lot, Jarda for your kind thoughts.
I have been banned for one week although I have followed your suggestions trying to solve the issue.
Even I said in the very first post of mine this below:
I only have been faced with the issue while connected wirelessly to the MikroTik router. When I have been using TP-Link Modem/Router in the "bridge mode" as a transparent modem.
However, If I am connected wirelessly directly to the TP-Link Modem/Router without using the RB2011UiAS-2HnD router , then there is no problem while connecting Wirelessly.
As a result, I think that the problem is with MikroTik Router, in particularly with Wireless network ???? However, I have not figured out how to fix it.

Moreover, while using TP-Link Modem/Router in the "bridge mode" as a transparent modem, and using the MikroTik router as a router, I even let another relative of mine get connected wirelessly to my MikrTik router using his Android mobile phone. So, he get disconnected and reconnected from and to the MikroTik router. When my relative was connected wirelessly to the TP-Link Modem/ Router, he didn't get disconnected at all.

Simple 2 questions for two simple answers: Yes/No

Have you downloaded and do you use WinBox 3.4 or newer instead of the old version 2 ?
Have you upgraded ROS and firmware of your router using newer WinBox ?

P.S.
I have unbanned you earlier ... please appreciate it.

First of all:
You have NOT unbanned me earlier at all. It was said in the message of the ban reason that I would be unbanned on Sept, 1, 2016, since I was banned on August, 25, 2016, which means that ban period was one week. So, I don't need to appreciate anything since you was not kind with me I am sorry to say that, but this is the truth even if I might be banned again for saying that. The ban on my account was raised in time.

Moreover, I have followed all your suggestions as numbered below, but I hope you would take some of your precious time out to read them:
1-I only have been faced with the issue while connected wirelessly to the MikroTik router. When I have been using TP-Link Modem/Router in the "bridge mode" as a transparent modem. ( I.e.

2- Moreover, while using TP-Link Modem/Router in the "bridge mode" as a transparent modem, and using the MikroTik router as a router, I even let another relative of mine get connected wirelessly to my MikrTik router using his Android mobile phone. So, he get disconnected and reconnected from and to the MikroTik router. When my relative was connected wirelessly to the TP-Link Modem/ Router, he didn't get disconnected at all. As a result, the problem is not related to Windows 10, nor with network adapters drivers

3- I am expecting that ROS and firmware are the same since there is only one option to update the ROS using Winbox. However, there is no option to update firmware.

4- with checking an updates for RouterOS using WinBox V:2.2.18 as in this screen shot below, I found that my RouterOS is 6.18, So, when I downloaded and upgraded the RouterOS into V: 6.36, and rebooted the Router, I still see RouterOS version appears as '6.18' as in this screen shot below. I don't know why the RouterOS was not upgraded to the latest version V: 6.36

Image

5- My WinBox loader version is V:2.2.18. How to find the WinBox 3.4? Whenever trying typing '192.168.88.1' in the address bar of a browser, and logging into Mikrotik router, and clicking on 'Winbox', I was prompted to download the Winbox. However, the same version 2.2.18 was downloaded.

3. Go to System - Routerboard and check if you have the latest firmware. If no, press the upgrade button and then make a reboot.

5. Go to http://www.mikrotik.com/download and in paragraph "Useful tools and utilities" you will find the latest winbox.

Please believe me ... I have unbanned you earlier ... 31.08.2016 is not 01.09.2016 despite the moment you have spotted that you can use forum.
acco.PNG
Please do stop beeing such a wimp and do what you have been asked to do ... you have had one week to download WinBox version 3.4 and upgrade your router and what ? You are again copying same screenshots, you do not follow our suggestions .... no change to your beahoviour ...

SHAME ON YOU !!!!

You are wasting our time. You have always zyllions explonations, you have time to write it but you DO NOT WANT our help.
You do not even click direct links to explonations of your problems.

In my opinion you are notorious troll teasing people on different forums:
https://www.lingq.com/forum/2/31070/?ju ... ost-173947
http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/vi ... -windows-7
https://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.ph ... post145378
and many others not mentioned.
1-........
2- .........
It is Mikrotik forum so why are you still writing about TP-Link ? Focus on Mikrotik's device ....
3- I am expecting that ROS and firmware are the same ...
You are wrong ... just RTFM.
since there is only one option to update the ROS using Winbox. However, there is no option to update firmware.
You are wrong again... RTFM.
Use WinBox 3.4 or 3.5 ... that is why you are asked to download it ... is it so hard to understand ? So please RTFM.

Acooperator ... I'm fully convinced to ban you for much longer if only you will write, upsss.. copy, same text again.

P.S.
To Jarda: Acooperator's last post is direct example that he is not reformable and your theory IMHO is wrong ... he will be copying same things till .... I do not know how long ... If he could not find the way to download WinBox how do you want to help him ?

It is Mikrotik forum so why are you still writing about TP-Link ? Focus on Mikrotik's device ....
I know this is MikroTik forum, but I mentioned that the problem doesn't appear while using TP-Link Router. So, there are no problems with Windows 10, adapter drivers, or DSL line. The problem is with MikroTik router.

2- I only know how to update ROS version, which is as shown in my previous screen shot. But, I don't know where I can update the firmware. You can tell me the difference between ROS and firmware and how to update the firmware in a brief reply

... If he could not find the way to download WinBox how do you want to help him ?
I downloaded the winbox-3.5 from one's OneDrive found by googling 'downloading winbox-3.4'. If you liked to help me, you could have sent me a link of downloading the winbox-3.4
Anyway I still didn't try to upgrade the ROS version using the Winbox 3.5. So, I hope I'd not be faced with the same issue that RouterOS version will not be upgraded, and still appears as '6.18' as it happened with checking an updates for RouterOS using WinBox V:2.2.18 as in this screen shot posted above, I found that my RouterOS is 6.18, although I upgraded it and rebooted the Router

Well, I am beginning to be more on your side. Even I still believe that acooperator will start to think, to study and to practice one day. He needs to realise that this is a must if he wants to survive. I would like to see how he would be able to defend himself if there were some fights nearby his house. Would he also waste few years by discussion on kalashnikov user forum if there is necessary to load ammo and how to pull the lever of bolt carrier to load the cartrigde into the barrel?

acooperator, are you able to click on this link?
http://download2.mikrotik.com/routeros/ ... winbox.exe
If, by an accident, yes, what it does?

Sorry to write this ... are you such a fool (to write it gently) ? You have been asked to do simple commands and you are not able to complete them.
Are you able to operate yor TV set ? Are you able do drive car ? Have you been asking for one year the car seller how to refuel and discussing with him if the fuel should be tanked up at once or in 3, 4 and maybe 20 steps and if you have to park on the left side of filling station or on right or maybe on the left in the morning and on the right in the evening and you do not want to be faced with filling problems if you car is white instead beeing black or if the mileage is below 10000 km then you should use BP stations or maybe Shell ones as they serve better coffe or maybe ..... you should take your mother-in-law for this journey or maybe you brother is better choice as ... or have you been asking him if car radio should be switched on or off during filling and if you should ........... AS YOU HAVE NO SUCH PROBLEMS WHEN YOU USE YOUR OLD BICYCLE GOING TO THE NEAREST BUS STOP.

Bartoszp:

This may seem very basic, but please try the following:

1) In your wireless Interface, go to the wireless tab. Set the frequency to a static frequency. Do not use AUTO. Also, set Channel width to 20Mhz.
2) Go to IP --> DHCP SERVER --> NETWORKS. Make sure that the network is set up correclty. Make sure that the Network and Gateway are correctly specified. Make sure that the DNS servers are correctly specified.
3) Question: When you place the mouse pointer over the yellow mark that appears on the wireless connection in Windows10: What does it show? Does it show No Interenet Connection? Or does it show Limited access? Or some other error?

Please let ne know the results.

Kind regards.

Sorry BartoszP, you are correct. My post was intended for acooperator. I got confused and typed the wrong adressee. I'm reposting below, and have added an additional item that I thought may help diagnose the problem.

acooperator: This may seem very basic, but please try the following:

1) In your wireless Interface, go to the wireless tab. Set the frequency to a static frequency. Do not use AUTO. Also, set Channel width to 20Mhz.
2) Go to IP --> DHCP SERVER --> NETWORKS. Make sure that the network is set up correclty. Make sure that the Network and Gateway are correctly specified. Make sure that the DNS servers are correctly specified.
3) If items 1 and 2 do not solve the problem, try enabling WPA PSK in addition to WPA2 PSK in the wireless security profile. Although WPA is outdated, I have experienced issues with some devices (mainly iPhones, but who knows...) not being able to connect unless WPA is enabled. If it works, it is an indication as to what additional steps to take.
4) Question: When you place the mouse pointer over the yellow mark that appears on the wireless connection in Windows10: What does it show? Does it show No Interenet Connection? Or does it show Limited access? Or some other error?

Please let ne know the results.

Kind regards.

First of all,
Thanks a lot for your participation in this thread of mine trying to help me.
Could you please take some of your precious time out to try to follow me up to the end of this post of mine?

Using the Winbox V:3.5,
Firstly- I tried upgrading the ROS version to the latest version 6.36.2, and rebooted the router.
Secondly- I tried upgrading the Firmware from Routerboard Factory Firmware (3.18) to Routerboard latest Firmware(3.33), and rebooted the router.

Thirdly- I tried applying the stoser's suggestions,
1) In my wireless Interface, I went to the wireless tab. And I found that the frequency is already set up to the static frequency(2412) . Also, I set the Channel width to 20Mhz.

2) I went to the IP --> DHCP SERVER --> NETWORKS. According to my screen shot below, I don't know how to make sure that the network is set up correctly, make sure that the Network and Gateway are correctly specified, and make sure that the DNS servers are correctly specified.
DCHP Server.JPG
3) I tried enabling WPA PSK in addition to WPA2 PSK in the wireless security profile.

However, none of the above solved my problem.

Moreover, to answer the Stoser's question "When you place the mouse pointer over the yellow mark that appears on the wireless connection in Windows10: What does it show? Does it show No Internet Connection? Or does it show Limited access? Or some other error?"

This is the answer: When I place the mouse pointer over the yellow mark, I see 'No Internet Connection". To be a little bit more detailed, I would say:
While connected wirelessly to RB2011UiAS=2HnD router , then after each two minutes there is no internet access occurring, and then a yellow mark shown in front the WiFi icon of Laptop, and I get disconnected automatically from the WiFi network. And I get disconnected from the WinBox. This happens continually about after each two minutes. I am connected to a Private network via this router

Also, while there is a yellow mark shown, I clicked on the 'troubleshoot problems', and I found 'The default gateway is not available', and this is the troubleshooting report:(I copied and pasted here since there is no way to save the troubleshooting report)

Re: I have a problem while connected wirelessly to "RB2011UiAS-2HnD"Router

Mon Sep 05, 2016 4:11 am

When Windows shows "No Internet Connection" but you are successfully connected to a wireless network, it is indicative of a gateway problem or perhaps a DNS problem. If I recall correctly, windows performs two checks to determine internet connectivity. The first is a DNS request (tcp port 53), and the second is a simple http port 80 request to a microsoft server. Based on the results, windows determines that there either is a) connectivity, b) limited connectivity, or c) no internet connectivity. Limited connectivity (b) usually means that one worked and the other didn't, like when a hotspot allows you to perform DNS requests but not HTTP requests until you accept their terms and conditions. If I recall correctly, "no internet connection" means that neither request succeeded.

Based on the above paragraph, your last post, and specifically the information that the windows diagnostic tool is giving you, I can think of a few possible problems that you need to look into:
a) the gateway may be improperly specified in the IP/DHCPServer/Network settings
b) the DNS server IP address is most likely incorrectly specified as well. Is 192.168.88.1 really your DNS server? Is 192.168.88.1 really your gateway?
c) You are not using NAT/masquerade correctly to NAT the wireless traffic to your internet connection.
d) I do not see what IP address ranges are in the DHCP pool, but take a look at those too, and make sure that they are in the same subnet as your gateway. Also make sure that there is no ovelap between your DHCP pool and any static addresses . For example, If your gateway really is 192.18.88.1/24, then your DHCP pool should be in the 192.168.88.0/24 network, but not include any static addresses such as 192.168.88.1

In summary, I really do not think that this is not a Mtik wireless issue. I believe that you are misconfiguring your DHCP server and/or NAT. DHCP, Gateways, subnets, and NAT are some of the most basic concepts that you need to learn in order to configure a router or access point. I must agree with some previous members' posts that the Mikrotik Wiki would be a good place to focus. At first it may be confusing but once you learn the basics, and truly understand them, the rate of learning accelerates rapidly.

Best of luck.

There are two main problems:

1. He is using PPoE and probably does not do NAT correctly but relies on default configuration = no correct gateway.
2. The router could be probably hacked ... see the first post and successful logins from external adresses via ssh. The router is "open" and we do not know what could be changed eg. ACL is set for WiFi clients.

Thanks a lot,
Stoser, could you please take some of your precious time out to read carefully my points below:

1- Bear in mind, I have been using TP-Link Modem/Router in the "bridge mode" as a transparent modem. Then, I configured the MikroTik Router (RB2011UiAS-2HnD) via PPPoE
So, while connected to the Mikrotik router wirelessly, I am faced with the issue 'no internet access' happening about each two minutes. However, while connected with an Ethernet cable via the LAN adapter, then there is no issue at all. So, if the configuration was not setup well, then I would be faced with the same issue while connected with a wired cable as well.

2- I used PPPoE.

3- You said 'I need to learn how to to configure a router or access point'. I'd be saying 'There is no access point' I use. I only use a router (MikrTik router)

4- This issue while connected to MikroTik router wirelessly occurred recently. So, if I need to learn how to configure the router, then I was having this issue from the beginning of using the MikroTik router.

5- You said "I believe that you are misconfiguring your DHCP server and/or NAT. DHCP, Gateways, subnets, and NAT are some of the most basic concepts that you need to learn in order to configure a router or access point.". So, could you please take a look at this screen shot of mine below, hoping to know if there is misconfiguration or not.
DHCP Server.JPG

6- If I configured the TP-Link router via PPPoE, and get connected directly to the TP-Link Modem/Router without using the MikroTik router(RB2011UiAS-2HnD) , then there is no a problem while connecting Wirelessly. So, I am guessing the MikrTik router get defective in the Wireless.

7- why when I am connected wirelessly to MikroTik router, and then I first the internet access gets lost, then there is a yellow mark shown in the WiFi icon.

8- When the issue of wireless connection occurs, even if I don't click on 'troubleshoot problems', and let Windows Diagnositics fixed the issue found, I found that get issue fixed temporarily(even if I don't do a troubleshooting problems. I only did a troubleshooting problems to get the results and let you see them) . When I did troubleshooting problems, then Windows Network Diagnostics found and fixed " The default gateway is not available ". So, I got connected again, however after about two minutes, the same issue occurs again, and so on. What do you think Troubleshooter fixed in gateway, and why the issue appears again each about two minutes(the time of happening this issue is not clear) if the troubleshooter fixed it???????

9- Note, there are other networks owners sitting behind me, and their own access points are seen by my PC. For instance, the access points networks named by "Al-hamoor.net1, Al-hamoor.net2, and Al-hamoor.net3' are seen by my PC(screen shots below). So, do you think there is mixing in the IPs with my wireless network name which is MikroTik BCE3DB? I don't think so since I configured my MikroTik router using my own DSL line. I cannot get connected to that person's networks unless I have a login name and PW given to me by that network owner.

acooperator, do this:
1) http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 66#p553290 (Group key update interval extension)
2) http://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php ... 66#p551662 (DHCP lease time extension)
If you do not try these easy things that take only one minute to try and another 10 minutes to wait if the problem occurs again, I do not know how to help you more.

Do not forget to reboot your client devices to freshly accept these settings.

Before all, read this: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Wireless and create new security profile that you will be using instead the default one.

acooperator:

jarda is correct on all points. Also, thanks for the welcome jarda.

The main thing I can add is this: There are many potential problems with your setup. We cannot possible know what they all are, and we cannot be expected to solve them for you with at a distance. I think that the easiest way to fix your problem is to break it into smaller potential problems. For example, you may have a problem with your wireless access point setup (and yes, you do have an access point, albeit a short range acess point). You may also have a problem with your dhcp settings, your routes, gateways, NAT, etc. If I were in your place, I would try to connect to the internet in the simplest possible way. This will provide you with a STABLE FUNTIONING base to work from. Then you can make one small change at a time to see how/why/if things continue to function or not. So, here is my suggestion, taking into consideration that you only have 1 computer to test with:

1) Use your DSL modem as a Router. Let the modem handle the PPPoE connection. DO NOT USE THE MTIK as a pppoe client at first. Connect your computer to the modem/router WITH A CABLE (not wirelessly). Test to see if your computer can connect to the internet. Then connect to the modem/router wirelessly, and test internet. If you have internet, you will now be able to view all of the manuals, tutorials, and use this forum. If you do not have internet access, ask a question specifically about this one item.

If Everything in Item #1 works, then go to #2

2) Turn on your 2011. Take a backup configuration and save it on your computer. Then RESET the Mikrotik. IN winbox you do this by selecting system/reset configuration. If you do not feel comfortable resetting it, DO NOT RESET IT, as your entire configuration will be lost. Also stop reading my post, as it is based on a reset. If you feel comfortable resetting it: Do not use the default configuration for your Mtik. Uncheck the box that lets you choose a default configuration. When the router reboots, Do NOT use Quick set. It doesn't work well. In this step you will simply create a bridge, with no wireless AP. Create a bridge and add two ports to it, ports 6 and 7. You can do this in winbox, under BRIDGE/bridge and bridge/ports. Give the Bridge a static IP address in the same range of addresses that your DSL modem gives. Do this in IP/Addresses in winbox. This is probably in the 192.168.1.0/24 range or 192.168.0.0/24 range. Choose a high number, like 192.168.x.240. Plug your computer into port 7. Plug your modem/router into port 6. Does your computer have internet access? It should have gotten an address from the DHCP server of the modem/router? If yes move to #3. If no, ask a question specifically about item #2

3) Now you will change the bridge you built in #2 to a router with no wireless access that uses a single static route and NAT masquerading to connect your computer to the internet. You could leave the bridge on ports 6 and 7 as the WAN, and enable another port, for example port 1 as the LAN port. Your computer should have a LAN address, and port 1 on the router should have a LAN address in the same subnet. You could use 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2. The default gateway on your windows computer should be the LAN address of Port 1. Use 8.8.8.8 as a DNS server. Then you need to look at the manual and study how to create a route between your two subnets (LAN and WAN) and understand how to masquerade between your LAN and WAN. After you do this, your computer should be able to access the internet when plugged into port 1. If this works, then move on to step 4. If it doesn't ask a question about a specific problem relating to item 3.

4) You will then create and IP pool, add a DHCP server to the WIRED LAN (port 1), and define a network for the DHCP server. I'll explain how to do that when you finish 1-3, or you can study the manual. You will then be able to set your computer's LAN IP properties to DHCP and connect your computer to the Mikrotik on port 1, and get an address automatically, instead of needing to use a static IP address for your computer's LAN connection.

5) If #4 works, you will then enable the WLAN and bridge it with your LAN, using the concepts you learned in #2, and apply the DHCP server to the bridge (extending the concepts you learned in #4). I'll explain how to do that when you finish 4, or you can study the manual.

6) You will then connect your computer wirelessly and see if you get a different result. If you can connect to the internet with a cable connecting you to the mikrotik you configured in #4, but not wirelessly (#5) then you can ask a question about how to correct the wireless configuration problem, because we now will know definitively that the the problem is WITH THE WIRELESS CONFIGURATION or the wireless hardware, since everything else has functioned correctly.

7) Finally, when 1-6 are finished, with each step functioning correctly, you will create the PPPOE connection directly from the Mikrotik to your dsl connection, set your modem to bridge mode, and change your routes and NAT to use the PPPOE connection instead of double NATing through the modem/router.

And then the real work will begin...

In summary, you are trying to do too much, too quickly, with too little understanding. The only way to build understanding is to study and apply your knowledge, one step at a time. The alternative is where you find your self currently.

Kind regards,

1) no need to ask. It is in the manual, right in the link I gave you. Why you haven't read it? You have not even tried it, because you get the limit in the error message when trying to set a value outside the limits. Shame on you!
2) yes.

The best way of setting a mikrotik is to fully remove the configuration and set everything manually from scratch. But the administrator must be able to do it knowing what and why he is doing. Not your case. For you the best way is to invite someone who is experienced to teach you. Or you can try to remove the config and go option by option, read the relevant parts of manual about everything and learn yourself by practicing. Like almost all of us here on the forum.

I like the enthusiasm of stoser. Hope it will last for a long time.

First of all, to answer your item #1 "Use your DSL modem as a Router. Let the modem handle the PPPoE connection. DO NOT USE THE MTIK as a pppoe client at first......."
I would be asking you what you mean with "Let the modem handle the PPPoE connection and DO NOT USE THE MTIK as a pppoe client at first".
I.e. what do you call either case below:

First case --- if I use my TP-Link device, which is 300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Modem Router, as a router. I used the ADSL cable included with the Router to connect it to a telephone wall socket or receptacle. I Plugged one end of the ADSL cable into the Line port (RJ11 receptacle) on the rear panel of the Router and I inserted the other end into the RJ11 wall socket. So, I configured the TP-Link router using PPPoE since I have username and PW, and get connected directly to the TP-Link Modem/Router without using the THE MTIK at all . while using this TP-Link router alone, there is no problem while connected to TP-Link router with a wired cable or Wirelessly -- As a result, based on my details above, everything in Item #1 works, I think.

Second case -- if I use TP-Link Modem/Router in the "bridge mode" as a transparent modem. Then, I setup the RB2011UiAS-2HnD router via PPPoE )

2- Bear in mind, while USING THE SECOND CASE (THE MTIK as a pppoe client at first), the time of happening Wireless issue (disconnecting from the router wirelessly) is not specified(sometimes it is after about 10 minutes or more, other times, it is after 3 minutes, and so on). I really cannot decide when I will be faced with that Wireless issue(getting 'no internet access', then ' a yellow mark' appearing on 'WiFi icon, and then getting disconnected from the WiFi network).

3- while USING THE SECOND CASE (THE MTIK as a pppoe client at first), when I click 'right click' on the Wireless icon on my PC, and chose troubleshoot problems while the 'yellow mark' appears on the wireless icon, then the "troubleshooting report" reports that the WiFi was reset, and then reports 'The default gateway is not available --- Fixed'
"default gateway: Fixed"
Reset the "Wi-Fi" adapter Completed
So, you don't conclude anything from 'troubleshooting report results' ("Default gateway is not available: fixed", and Reset the 'WiFi' adapter"). I think this is the key of my issue?

Jarda,
First of all: while using my TP-Link "300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Modem Router" as transparent modem by resetting it, then I setup my MikroTik router to connect via PPPoE.
However, there is something strange happened while connected to MikroTik router via a wired cable. The strange thing is I was disconnected, and I was faced with 'failed to authenticate us to peer to peer." via Winbox. After that, the "300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Modem Router" was in 'bridge mode' as transparent modem became setup as router automatically without interfering from my side. So, I got connected when trying to be connected to the Wireless network name of TP-Link, and entering the PW used to connect to the Wireless network of MikroTik router.

Secondly: Since Skype doesn't use any remote connection assistance, how about sending the PW generated via using Windows Remote assistance and join to me via Windows Remote Assistance. (I am using Windows 10)?

For those who is interested in, the long story short:
The root cause of the problem was finally the wireless driver in the windows10 used on acooperators notebook. After update there are no further problems.

Thanks a lot, Jarda for your explanation.
Yes that was the cause. In addition to what Jordan said, I would say it in detail.
It was an incompatible wireless adapter driver version. In the first time I have installed Windows 10, then once Windows 10 completed installation, it identified the Wireless and LAN adapters drivers automatically without installing any drivers from my notebook manufacturer website.
This is the driver version 6.30.223.256(2013) named with Microsoft Windows identified by Windows 10 installation setup. However, it looked as if it was incompatible with my notebook since I was having a WiFi disconnection issue with it.
This screen shot shows up the Wireless adapter driver version 6.30.223.256 identified by Windows 10 installation setup, and with which I was having WiFi disconnection issue:
Image
Troubleshooting/fixing: When I have opened the device manager, and then went to the WiFi adapter and then clicked on it 'right click', and after that, I have clicked on 'update the driver software' . Finally Windows 10 itself updated the driver version from 6.30.223.256(2013) named with Microsoft Windows to the driver version (5.60.350.23) 2010 which is named with "Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher"
This screen shot shows up the Wireless adapter driver version 5.60.350.23 after I let Windows 10 update the Wireless adapter driver via Device manager. with this driver version, my WiFi issue was fixed.
Image
As a result, . the earlier version of WiFi adapter driver fixed the issue.

The most strange thing to which I don't have any answer is why my WiFi adapter driver version 6.30.223.256(2013) is incompatible with my WiFi adapter while connected to MikrTik router? However, while connected to TP-Link router, there is no WiFi issue. Also, Windows 10 updated the newer/later exiting driver version 6.30.223.256(2013) to an earlier driver version 5.60.350.23 9(2010). So, the earlier version fixed the WiFi issue. WE ALL KNOW THAT UPDATING ANYTHING MEANS TO LET IT BE A LATER/NEWER ONE

Hi everyone!

@jarda, @boen_robot, @BartoszP, the world needs more people like you. I've purchased a Mikrotik RouterBoard the day before yesterday (a RB951Ui-2Hnd, which, by spending 2 minutes on wiki, I've found to be a RouterBoard, series 9, 5 ethernet ports, 1 wireless interface, with USB, Power injector without controller, 2.4GHz, High Power, 802.11n, and dual chain) but hasn't spent a lot time on it yet. But I've read the entire other thread that @acooperator started in 2014, and this very one. I've spent about 6 hours in total, yesterday and today, reading both threads.

I've no question (yet!), and I almost never ask anything in forums, because I do value very much the time of other developers, hackers, professionals and people in general. And brilliant minds like yours have to be valued!

Personally, I found the Mikrotik comunity to be one of the best that I found on internet so far, just by reading those two threads. You guys are very patient, and explain even the basic things in lots and lots of details! Thanks a lot for the entertaining comments, whose even helped me, because I'm trying to do the same things that acooperator is trying to achieve, but for testing/hobby purposes only (as my main goal with Mikrotik equipments is a little bit different, it involves an IoT solution, B2B). The documentation/wiki is amazing as well! I'll be reading it and experimenting a lot before asking anything here to you. Although it is very relieving to know that all this knowledge is avaiable here!

One day I hope to use my accumulated knowledge to help other people like you are doing!
