DHCP Client Problems

Fri Oct 06, 2006 6:33 am

Using an Atheros AR5211 in a RB112 station connecting to a Tropos AP that issues a 1/2 hour lease. After x renewals the DHCP client gets stuck at "requesting". Signals are >-65 running 2.9.31. Only fix is to reboot the RB. Anyone seen this?

I don't know if you're using WPA but I had a similar problem with chains of WDS and WPA security... Networking is working fine, it's only DHCP that's stay requesting....

I've put the clients on a Vitrual AP with WPA support, and WDS interfaces without any keys, directly on the master interface... Release and renew is working fine now, with 6 hops...

Best Regards,
Julien

These are open - no encryption.

Thanks, Mike

Wanted to give this a bump as I've also having the same problem with WRAP boards too. And I'm seeing with other APs besides Tropos.

nice picture, abyss. How do those radio cards taste? Did you "fry" them?

I *think* I've solved this problem by setting the noise floor threshold to around -90 to -96. Working well so far...
