Mikrotik & Unifi AP

Tue Oct 25, 2016 1:53 pm

Dear All,

Kindly need your help.
I'm newbie in Mikrotik & Unifi. I have plan to build a network for 25meters x 20 meters building (1 floor) with total user 50 (30 user using desktop & 20 user using laptop).
Currently, we have buy:
- 1 unit RB110AH
- 1 unit Unmanaged Switch with 48 port
- 3 unit Unifi AP-AC-LR

My network topology:
- Topology 1
Image

- Topology 2
Image

Which's one better Topology 1 or Topology 2? Or probably there are any others suite topology.
Also how to config them? Thank you.

Hello,

your topology images are not visible, please check.
Also some information/impression about walls and location of users in the building you mentioned might be relevant :)

greets

Besides that what advantages are you expecting from mixing the ubnt with mikrotik technology? You are effectively loosing capsman functionality or some dude management options. For example.

The pictures are visible now. Your decision will be according to fact if you need to split the wifi network from the wired network or if those have to be part of one network. Also what ratio of traffic do you expect between the wifi clients and fixed clients compared to the traffic from those clients to the Internet. Most probably it is indifferent until you decide to filter traffic between wifi and fixed clients or whether total sum of Internet traffic exceeds 1gbit.

I need the wifi to be part of one network (wired). I have total 50 concurrent users (30 using wired and 20 using wifi). Currently, i don't need the bandwidth limitation.
