Poor wlan signal on hAP AC

Tue Jan 03, 2017 1:08 pm

Hi,

the signal quality in same or next room was ok with my hAP AC but next room it was really poor and disconnects often. The base router "AVM Fritz Box" has much more power on the signal. What can be the problem and how can i give more power on the antenna? Would be nice to know where i had to check the config to get a better stronger signal.

Thanks.
Ben

Enable advanced mode and check your tx-power settings and frequency mode. Please post all wireless settings:

First disable CAPsMAN, than scan whole 2.4 ghz and 5ghz band, to find "best channel". Re-enable CAPsMAN, at Configurations set what you have found in previous step. If you have more boards - At Interfaces add new device, and you can add different "MHZ" bands, but this I dont recomend, it's better to let CAPsMAN to decide. You could try to give Tx Power a bigger number. Good luck!

Edit 1: Oh by the way, try to get higher band for 5Ghz. It could overlap your 2.4 band if on too big power. On all MT- devices I recomend to enable eg only 802.11 an / 802.11 ac.

I had already the best frequencies. But in general the power of antenna isn't very good?
