Repleace RB911G Sextant with RB911AC

Mon Mar 13, 2017 12:37 pm

Hello everybody.

I nedd to replease my actual p2p bridge compose to two SEXTANT RB911G-5HPnD ( 1.5Km distance), for improve performance and trouthout.

I'm uncertain to buy two product.

Bridge with 2 RouterBOARD SXTG 5HPacD or bridge with 2 RB911G-5HPacD-QRT

The SXT (16dBi antenna) is more cheaper than QRT (24dBi antenna) and my bridge is only 1.5Km distance, but i'm uncertain if is better buy the QRT, because in my country have more wisp and i've background noise by another radio wisp.

Thanks.

Dont Byte SXT or QRT, Dynadish if you have noisy Region, just take a Look to Antenna Pattern, the all have Hughe side Lobes

Just take a Look to RF Elements TP-400 with TwistPort Adapter for RB

Thanks for replay and help.

Honestly, i don't like Dynafish, because is very bigger and cumbersome.

If i buy NetBox5 RB911G-5HPacD-NB 802.11ac 866Mbps + grid antenna 23dBi ?

Thanks

You Need to buy an Antenna with Dual Polarisation
Dont by cheap Antenna, with this in mind you have to Bye two times,
After your needed Bandwith doesnt Go over The Link

Grid antenna have only one polarization it will work worst that SEXTANT from my experience.

One solution you can try is to replace only board in the SEXTANT, open SEXTATNT and replace board with RB911G-5HPacD I try this and replacing give me little better signal because new board have higher rf power and beacuse support ac that give you little better throughput.
Of course rf elements is very good solution in noise area, but if you now have solid performance replacing just board give you more performance.

Very thanks for replay.

The solution of repleace only the board is not good for me, because if buy two new RB911ac i sell my old sextant.

OK, is necessary to buy an antenna with dual polarization. If i decide to buy NetBox5 RB911G-5HPacD-NB 802.11ac 866Mbps, and buy an antenna with dual polarization, is necessary to connect it Chanel 0 and Chanel 1 SMA, is true? sorry for this question... I'm a pratician.

Thanks

I've view a StationBox XL by RF Elements and i'm interesting.

I view the datasheet and the spectrum of the panel is interessant.
Is compatible with board of RB911G-5HPacD 802.11ac.

Otherwise, this is the datasheet spetrum of Dynadish.

I think the stationbox have an angle degree more smaler than dynadish.
