Does CAPsMAN controlling radio channels and interference betweens

Mon Apr 17, 2017 9:02 pm

We are planing to use MikroTik devices for one resort WiFi project.
Plan is to run CAPsMAN on CHR and to seed over 100 Mikrotik APs (CAPs and HAPs) all over places in resort.
We have guests rooms, lobbyes, and restaurants, parks, pools and others where exist needs for wifi signal .
In some cases on one places there is over 200 clients (restaurants, halls etc), For areas like that we are planing to put two or more APs.
Idea is to make one SSID for all APs and to put users in front of HotSpot.
Our concern (botheration) is about what is going to hapen when we put all radios on one SSID,
Do we need to care about channels selection on each AP to avoid interfering of signals and to avoid more damage then goods, when there is more than one AP in room.
Does CAPsMAN managing radio signals and frequencies out of box, or we need to manually select channels and radios on Caps which see each others ?

Yes, CAPsMAN use DFS channel management by default. Some configuration tweaks for channel selection restriction may needed.

DFS is not channel management. It is a mandatory feature to avoid interference to primary band users (RADAR).

Does not matter, as it is called, (management or control)) the result is the same: cAPs select different channels to avoid neighbours interference.
