mAP lite powered by RB960PGS (hEX PoE) - 802.3af?

Tue Jun 27, 2017 10:49 pm

hello everyone
i trying to power up mAP lite from poe of RB960PGS (hEX PoE)
it works fine if i used all 8 lines of cable
but i need 4 lines - data+power at same lines:
1,2+ and 3,6- data and power
or
1,2- and 3,6+ data and power
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/index.php?tit ... lity_table
if i understood corretly (of course, i can be wrong), 802.3af(mode A?) can be use for it. but it doesn't work. i try crossover and direct cable with same result (map lite not powered on - i try poe 'auto on' mode and 'forced' at RB960PGS)

where is my mistake? thank you.

btw, it is mistake in decsription i think: page say that device support only 802.3at poe-in, but at device print: 802.3at/af

I think the mAP can support power in via pins 1,2,3,6 (Mode A) or 4,5,7,8 (Mode B).
And I think the hEX can only send power out via pins 4,5,7,8 (Mode B).

The description of the hEX PoE says "It can power at/af mode B (4,5+)(7,8-) compatible devices, if 48-57 input voltage is used." It doesn't say anything about powering anything via mode A.

thx for reply. yeah. i think same about poe-mode-A in hEX PoE. but i will be glad for reply from mikrotik tech support.

> It can power at/af mode B (4,5+)(7,8-) compatible devices, if 48-57 input voltage is used
very strange wording. because i use standart 24v power supply from retail package of hEX PoE and poe-mode-B works fine.
what mean author of this words - it is secret for me :)

i think, it is need to print in decstiption (what mode of 803.2af support), because i buyed hEX PoE special for this case. offensively :(
