What is connect-list and why do I need it?

After adding entry to connect-list AP connected successfully. I'm not sure if it was just coincidence or connect-list really does affect AP willingness to connect, however while when signal is strong it doesn't seem to have any trouble connecting, when signal quality is bad it struggles to pull off even though laptop wifi doesn't seem to have any issues like that in the same area.

AP is MikroTik mAP lite

The connect list controls what ap’s the wireless card can connect to. It allows you to specify multiple ssid’s and security profiles. On an Ap using WDS it can be used to control which other ap’s it will link with.
