Impossible, unless there is 0 noise and you can bond multiple netmetal 5's. Rather look at 80Ghz for 1gbps + at that distance, or if your country allows it 24Ghz.

the new Wireless Wire Dish (LHG60) will work at near Gigabit at 1KM. It comes out soon.
It works in 60GHz.

hello normis,

thank you for the answer...

60 GHz not allowed in my country.

i am looking for 5GHz band.. .something like Ubiquiti airFiber 5 GHz ( https://www.ubnt.com/airfiber/airfiber5/ ) but with Mikrotik hardware.

I highly doubt that you will be able to get that kinds of speeds ons 5Ghz.

A single airfiber 5 wil max out at about 700Mbps @ 50Mhz/1024QAM modulation.

Maybe 2x netmetals at each location could do the job if there is very little noise.

I know ubnt has a airfiber 5x hd comming out some time in the future, it would be able to use 100Mhz channel.

Otherwise 24Ghz link will get you the closest to the gig

You would need 200+ MHz of very clean 5GHz band to achieve that capacity and that is with bonding two links in parallel.
Realistically that much of free 5GHz band isn't something available in most of the places today.

2km link for 60GHz is most probably too long (at least for 1Gbbps capacity).
There are also multiple licensed solutions but they cost even more.

There are 24GHz and 17GHz unlicensed solutions available but they aren't made by Mikrotik.

M.

There is a real reason why such hardware costs 5000+ USD per link.
R & D costs are huge and it takes a lot of time.
I believe that most of Mikrotik's costumers are "budget oriented" and in that sense I can understand why Mikrotik doesn't invest in such expensive technology (yet).
One day that may change but one should acknowledge that nobody can achieve everything and make everyone happy for 10x less money.

There are many other specialized companies which are making such hardware, one who really needs it will just have to pay for it or start using fiber.

Regards,
M.

Why is that a bad thing? The Ubiquiti stuff is pretty stable unless you run beta firmwares and even more so on the carrier class links. 24Ghz AirFiber would do exactly what you need. (Sorry MikroTik).

somehow after all these years with using Mikrotik it has become a family member.

now i can't get in a new brand just overnight. wondering what best can be done.

and yes Ubiquiti has very bad replacement issues in India. I have burnt my fingers once long time back so not again for sure.
