Re: wAP 60G experience

We use both the dish and the panel SM. All 1G interface gear (not the Lite). Of our two APs having issues, both have 4 clients and of those 4, each have 2 dishes and 2 panels.

Anybody has good experience with 8 clients for Ap ir similar?
Will be solved by software? Any alternativa?

Improovement proposal

Utilizing LHG60 with less capacity backup link on different waveband, main and backup lines are switched via OSPF. Problem is when weather going bad and decrease LHG60 link quality it start loosing packets but short OSPF packets still going throught and OSPF did not switch to backup line.

Have idea to add some signal level thresholds point to radion configuration on witch packets will no longer been transmited through radio layer. Let say "Lower Thrashold Level - LTL" and "Higher Threshold Level - HTL" could be defined in radio management.

Let say my experiance is on signal 35 the packetloss is 1% but on signal 30 is 10%. Than LTL could be signal 35 but HTL could be signal 40. When signal decreasing and reach LTL, radio link stop forwarding packets and OSPF switch to backup. When signal increasing and reach HTL, radio start packets forwarding again. The difference between HTL and LTL is to avoid oscilating beteen two states when signal floating about the limit.

It could stop only OSPF packets (protocol 89) passthrough on LTL reach, but have no idea if there is a internal mechanism to identify protocol number.

I have noticed a problem with the link ustable / ping timeout in relation to the wAP 60Gx3 AP.
If at least one customer (like Cube60 in my case) has problems, they all have problems.
For this purpose I serve a backup wAP 60Gx3 AP to isolate the problem client while it is being replaced.

Continuation of experience.
I solved the problematic Cube Lite60 with Netinstall.
When replacing the Cube Lite60 (near and far) with the Cube 60G ac I noticed a worse MCS and PHY rate. This was solved by moving them from AP with frequency 64800 to AP with 60480.
Conclusion: You must have at least 3 wAP 60Gx3 APs (as in my case), where two APs have different frequencies and the test method selects the CPEs that work best with it and one AP for backup to isolate problem customers, or for backup and test purposes.
P.S. I would like Mirkotik to make it possible to replace the Cube without removing the bracket and re-adjusting.

wap to wap 100m is too much during heavy rain (>50mm/h), use a Cube60 on the client side to improve stability during bad weather

My gosh, really? Friend of mine says its 100% stable for 100m.

Cube has only 100Mbit port and its snow catching more than WAP 60.

The both have the same 40dBm signal, its the ethernet port that is faster

Do you know what is the diffrence between antena gain between WAP 60 vs Cube? There is no posibility license upgrade from licence level 3 to 4?

Does anyone have experience with WAP 60G AP to WAP 60G client for 100meters during heavy rain and heavy snow?
As i wriiten Wap to Wap is not stable in heavy rain @100m, Wap + Cube 60 Ac works much better and you don't need L4 license if you have only a client on the AP side
