Issue with SXT 5 ac in the same VLAN

Fri Dec 22, 2017 2:09 pm

Hello everyone,

We have two Mikrotik SXT 5 ac connected to a Cisco 2960 Switch in the same VLAN. They both are connected via PPTP Wireless links to another 2 Mikrotik SXT 5 ac.

At first we had only one Mikrotik on the Cisco Switch and everything was running normal. The issue started when we added the second Mikrotik SXT 5 ac on the Switch in the same VLAN as the first one. We're getting the following error on both Mikrotiks "ether1: bridge port received packet with own address as source address probably loop". The ping to both Mikrotik start dropping to 100-150ms when both Mikrotik are live. When we shut down the port on the Cisco Switch to one of the Mikrotik the other Mikrotik router start working normal with ping of 1ms.

The configuration we have on both Mikrotik is pretty simple. We created bridge port. Added an IP address to the bridge. Then we created a port between the Bridge and the WLAN and the Bridge and the ether1. The ports on the Cisco Switch are access and in VLAN 130.

Any help would be very grateful.

Re: Issue with SXT 5 ac in the same VLAN

We found what was causing the issue. I made Backup on the first Mikrotik and then restored the same configuration to the rest of the Mikrotiks. This ended up all of the Mikrotik Antennas to have the same MAC address on the Bridge Interface. This was causing the error: "ether1: bridge port received packet with own address as source address probably loop".

I learned the lesson and wanted to share.
