Long Distance PTP Connection

Sat Feb 17, 2018 11:38 am

Hello Good day, I would like to ask if Mant 30 is capable of connecting 2 sites with the distance of 13.5 km? the path of wireless will pass a bit in the sea side of the area, the tower is high, and no other obstacles blocking the way. My preferred devices are:

1. Mant30 PA
2. Netbox
3. Sleevekit cover

I would really appreciate those who will give me an answer. thank you :)

By links over water, just choose the biggest Antennas you could mount, if your Budget allows that.

Over the Water you will see thermal effects that interfere your link!

Did you check the LOS? How high are both towers? What elevation are they? What obstacles (ANY) are there? What height and what distance from the tower? What frequency are you transmitting?

This is very important!

Make a LOS calculation.

this one is a simple one:

This indeed is true, many people don't know. A friend of me recently experienced this thermal effect on his over water link...

How about instead of netbox, I'll be using netmetal5 (triple chain)....towers are high and no obstacles have been blocking the way to the next site. but, it will only passby the seashore....I think 10 meters from the shore. 13.5 KM is the distance....

Any way, thank you for all your comments, I do appreciate your knowledge being shared to us :)
