[QuickSolve] CAPSman on x86 - configuration help?

Tue Mar 06, 2018 2:31 pm

Hello!

I've got an x86 that is the my network controller (DHCP, capsman, firewall, queues, etc)

For simplicity, lets say there are only 2 interfaces on the x86
- LAN
- WAN

Ive setup CAPSman on the LAN interface and my AP is getting the wireless configs. No problem.

But my clients are not getting IP addresses.

When I bridge the CAPS-interfaces and the LAN port on x86, all other clients get no internet.
When I bridge the CAPS-interface and the Virtual-slave LAN port on x86, again, all clients get no internet.

I'm missing a crucial step in the capsman setup and config. I think. What is it?

If you use virtualized x86 router on VMware and use bridge between WiFi and LAN - you need allow "MAC Address Changes" and "Forged Transmits" on port group. On other hypervisors maybe same changes needed.
