RB433 and Ubiquity XR9

Fri May 18, 2018 8:20 pm

I have a Mikrotik RB433 with a Ubiquity XR9 (900 MHz) PCMCIA card installed. The card shows up as a 2.4 GHz radio in the Mikrotik admin interface not a 900 MHz radio. I got this equipment from someone who was using it as a 900 MHz radio, reset the configuration and installed the latest Mikrotik OS (6.42.2) before I noticed that it was showing up wrong. The RB433 also has a R52n-M card installed and that card shows up and works correctly. Do I need some special driver for the Ubiquity XR9 to make it work properly? Am I missing a config step?

Assuming you mean "Ubiquiti"
Also the RB433 has MiniPCI slots.

If you would take the time to familiarize yourself with the XR9 and maybe even use the search feature you would get your answer in less time then it took to write your post.

Thanks for your (passive-aggressive) response. I did spend time searching both the web and the forum. Evidently I missed this information or did not search the right places with the right keywords. Your response be useful to me and I appreciate it.

At least the passive-aggressive gave us a clue, this saved me a lot of time. Here are some resources I found on the card, building up a pair now. Beats trying to buy a RocketM900 which are pulling $500 on ebay right now... I have a pair that plows through 5 acres of forest, where nothing else works. We get 7-9Mb down and 5-6Mb up, and when it was on higher terrain, we were getting 12/12. Not bad for old, ugly, 900Mhz, but this is way out in rural Madison, GA.

I am connecting these radios to the 900Mhz YAGI that Ubiquiti makes, and I need this cable to go with it, as the card has two male MMCX connectors on it.
