w60g bridge vs ap-bridge performance issues

Thu May 31, 2018 2:06 pm

Hi.

So I've noticed a substantial difference in setting a wap60 to bridge vs ap-bridge.

Currently this wap60 is a ptp link and I am in the process of converting it to ptmp. However my existing client keeps on flapping. I upgrading to the latest RC (on both sides) and noticed a huge difference.

mode=bridge
interface w60g station monitor wlan60-station-2
       connected: yes
          remote: 30:07:4D:84:A0:74
             mcs: 7
        phy-rate: 1925.0Mbps
          signal: 60
            rssi: -70
       tx-sector: 14
  tx-sector-info: left 19 degrees, down 19 degrees
       rx-sector: 96
        distance: 199.24m

mode=ap-bridge
interface w60g station monitor wlan60-station-2
       connected: yes
          remote: 30:07:4D:84:A0:74
             mcs: 2
        phy-rate: 770.0Mbps
          signal: 35
            rssi: -70
       tx-sector: 14
  tx-sector-info: left 19 degrees, down 19 degrees
       rx-sector: 96
        distance: 199.23m

PHY & MCS rate is MUCH lower by only changing the mode. Wondering if anyone else is seeing this?

Thanks. We noticed a lot of client flapping with rc19 and rc21. Reverting to rc17 stabilizes things.
Looking forward to distance measurements and RSSI in SNMP making a return.
