High Latency every 10 minutes, dfs problem?

Wed Jun 13, 2018 11:29 am

Hi,

we have a wireless link were i see high latency every 10 minutes starting from the initial connect. Normaly Ping latency is around 5ms but then peaks to 100ms or even more.

Does this have to do with DFS Radar Scan? I already tested superchannel and "debug" country but this seems not to help with this problem. Currently we are using 6.42.3 with two RB SXT G-5HPacD on 802.11. nv2 doesn seems to be affected but with higher latency in general.

Can somebody explain that to me?

Regards
Andy

DFS radar detect gives a downtime of 1 full minute on a DFS channel or for the DFS weather radar channels (5,600- to 5,650-MHz) the downtime is 10 full minutes. So 100ms is something else.

Is the "Station Roaming" enabled on the device in station mode ? The station mode device will scan for a better AP every x minutes (x depending on the current signal quality). This might introduce some extra delay. If a "station mode" device is meant to connect to one AP and stay connected with that AP, then "Station Roaming" should be disabled.
