Network File Sharing problemt

Sun Jun 17, 2018 3:04 pm

Dear All

I have to ask you for a help. I have hit the problem which I can not resolve for several days.

I have got home network of seversl PCs running on Windows 7 64.
One of them is SERVER. Router - Mikrotik.

Several days ago I have suddenly lost access to shared printer and shared folders on SERVER (Error code 0x80070035 - The network path not found).

From my workstation I still can ping SERVER, I can log into SERVER via Remote Desktop, I can connect to Database or Webserver on SERVER.
So I guess it is not networking proble but rather internal server configuration.
While logged into SERVER (RD) I still can NOT open my share: \\SERVER\Shared however I can open it via : \\localhost\Shared.

It is not Mikrotik problem. I have replaced it with my old TP-LINK and seeing same problem;

Anyone can help how to resolve\diagnose this problem?

Thanks in advance
Sergey

Check to see if your network connection type is still Home.

Yes, my network is Home network (on all PCs).

I performed diagnostics on Incoming connections and looks like something blocking them:
Security policy settings or firewall settings on this computer might be blocking the connection.

I have switched off Firewall. But I have no idea what to do with security settings.

I am still fighting with the issue.

What I could find is that port 445 is blocked on server.

I have diagnosed it with portqry:

Starting portqry.exe -n hippy -e 445 -p TCP ...

Querying target system called:

hippy

Attempting to resolve name to IP address...

Name resolved to 192.168.0.151

querying...

TCP port 445 (microsoft-ds service): FILTERED
portqry.exe -n hippy -e 445 -p TCP exits with return code 0x00000002.

Anyone can help with idea what may be blocking the port.
I have switched firewall off. But port is still blocked.

Thanks
Sergey

By the way I have solved the problem.

Luckily I have noticed that windows by itself installed Critical Security Update 13th of June.
Normally I do not updated windows on my server.
I have rolled back to the restore point before 13th and now everything works fine as before.
