FCC TX Power

Wed Jun 20, 2018 12:18 am

Quick question. In the 2ghz band with a 14dbi antenna I can have the transmit power at 22db. On my dual chain ap's I have the tx power set at 19 and the total comes to 22. Does the fcc refer to the tx power or total tx power. Just wondering if I can set my tx power to 22 and total come to 25 to get 3 more db.

It goes by total tx output. The number that really matters is the radiated power (antenna gain + tx power - losses). If you have the country set to US and Antenna Gain set to 14 in the Mikrotik settings, then you can leave the power settings to default and the device will control power.
