General nv2 issues

Thu Nov 15, 2018 9:56 pm

hello, will nv2 perform any work in mikrotik for bad performance and ping problems?

Everyone complains about this situation, but no one makes a proper statement.

We know it was developed in nv2 arm versions, but will it be developed in other versions?

Sorry my bad English

Have a nice day.

We have no answer for this question, but it looks like, that Nv2 is legacy and would not get any upgrades

@mistry7: I just hope they ditched it because fixing this stuff in v6 is too hard and they have it working in v7 .
Personally, I can't believe mikrotik's business plan would include removing support from single TDMA protocol optimized for PTMP links. That would mean giving up in pretty big market sector.

Anyway, back to topic: I am unsure what OP means with
We know it was developed in nv2 arm versions, but will it be developed in other versions?
NV2 is supported on all platforms. not just ARM. But it has issues only on ARM. Hopefully it will not develop issues on other platforms too
(I have few RBGrooveA-52HPn which are MIPSBE and their NV2 performance is great)

There is now wireless Future with Mikrotik, new Products only for switching/Routing/Fiber
Most vendors come up with 802.11ax Hardware, Mikrotik has no working Wave 2 Solution...
Drivers are only rudimentary, there are now new Features, they are not able
To realize function that we had in the past...

- rock solid TDMA
- Spectral Scan

Ros 7 will need more then 12 month after 7.00 Release until
It will work as aspected (I remember the early Ros 6 releases)

What we need is working CPE‘s for 802.11ac, ARM based are scrap!
We will change next tower to mimosa to get some CPE‘s for other places

The biggest problem for us is nv2.
Nv2 is a must, so all our devices need to work in mikrotik and noise environments!
Thank you for your answers.
