Update to 6.43.11 not good for wireless

Wed Feb 06, 2019 12:03 am

Hello, I just updated my Cap AC to 6.43.11 - No issues, after that WiFi signal was less then before. Especialy 5GHz

On my MacBook I checked WiFi Explorer Pro which showed stronger signal from my neighbours' wifi which is 10m away and behind concrete walls compared to own cap ac which is 2 m and in clear sight.

Registration speeds are also lower then before. Does anyone has alike experiences, shouldn't my signal be higher then the one next door ?

For 2.4GHz, antenna gain is 2, and txpower is 17
For 5GHz, antenna gain is 3, and txpower is default

Before update, antenna gain for 5GHz was 2.

Before the update, antenna gain was 2. After the update, antenna gain is 3.

The higher the gain, the lower the output power. Go back to 2, if you feel you need it.

It said 'minimal antenna gain for this country is 3', and I could not change back to 2 anymore. So I also changed country to no_country_set, this solved most of the problem. Tried gain=2, gain=1 and gain=0, best results with gain=0. Still slower but acceptable. Will do some speed testing.
