Low throughput on RB2011 + E3372

Hey there!

I've got huge issues with RB2011 and Huawei E3372h-153. The problem is the slow DL/UL LTE throughput. I'm getting capped @ 21Mbps DL & 11Mbps UL no matter what.

Here is what I've done so far: Netinsall 6.44 stable on my RB2011; reset to blank w/o default configuration; with the LTE modem plugged in, RB2011 autmatically gives me option for LTE AP in Quick Set; lte-interface is then automatically created, and router is working fine otherwise.

Functionality-wise all is working just fine! Those darn LTE speeds, though... :?

Same LTE modem is utilizing ~93% of the LTE cell speed when I'm using it with a laptop. I've chosen an excellent LTE cell @ 15MHz BW and stellar RSRP & SINR (I can monitor these from the network-side, PRB utilization too :) ). More so, I'm also getting 90Mbps DL & 25Mbps UL with the same modem and a friggin' TP-LINK!!! A TP-LINK FOR $20!!!

So, it's not the LTE network, it's not the modem itself. It should be something with the RB2011 or RouterOS.

Many moons ago, I created couple of tickets with MT support, to none of which I got a response to this day. They are so silent!

Can anyone please help me get decent LTE speeds out of ANY Tik with this E3372?

I have exactly the same problem. Well, almost.

I have two Mikrotik RB3011, a VDSL2+ Modem and a business internet provider which wants a VLAN7 for his PPPoE Dialups.

When I connect my Notebook with the Modem, give it a VLAN7 and bring up the dialup I get a speed of 260 by 100 Mbit/s on "speedtest.net". Now if I configure on of the Mikrotik RB3011s with a VLAN7, a PPPoE Dialup on that VLAN, a testing-LAN on eth2 and a masquerade of course for outgoing traffic, I'm locked to ~35Mbit/s in both directions.

I tested two different RB3011 with the delivered MikrotikOS 6.40.8 and also with up to 6.43.4. The CPU does not get over 2% load. There are no Queues configured. We tested all MTU's which made PPPoE Dialup possible (below 1430 didn't dial up, above 1510 didn't dial as well) no difference, except it went down even a bit more with only 1430 MTU.

This is a huge problem. I will see if the Mikrotik Support responds to my query.

Thanks for your post! I'm pretty sure it's a widespread issue. I've also tested with hAP ac, RB951 and a few others. The results are always the same.

More so, I also sourced 2 more, albeit a little different E3372's. SSDD, basically. Modems work perfectly fine outside MikroTik devices, but not in those.

I've almost gave up at this point, and I'm trying to at least get the attention of some moderators, so my rant could be hopefully forwarded to someone willing to answer it. Hell, I don't even want a solution now. I'd be happy with a simple "Yeah, our Tiks are kind of screwed when it comes to modems (among other things)...", so at least I can invest in decent solution then.
