New network design - workable?

Wed May 01, 2019 10:11 pm

I'd like to have two APs, each with a pair of SSIDs: 'staff' (EAP-TLS) and 'guest' (simple shared password), on two different VLANs. The complicating factor is I need one AP to use the other for backhaul (for the authentication traffic, and for both VLANs themselves): am I right in thinking I could use any of the 'dual concurrent' APs (wsAP ac lite, hAP ac lite) for this, one radio as backhaul (5GHz), the other as a 2.4GHz AP? Have I missed anything there?

(Yes, I'd much rather have an Ethernet drop between them instead, but it needs to cross someone else's property, so adding wires is out!)

Yes, you can use a pair of dual-radio devices, dedicating one radio to backhaul, to achieve what you envisioned.
