[ETA] new wireless driver?

Thu Jun 06, 2019 8:12 pm

You are right, that MikroTik made wireless driver doesn't have Wave2 support, so new chipset benefits are not there. We are working on a new driver.
.

When can we expect the new wireless driver to be released? Are we talking about months, quarters, next 6.46/6.47 release, next year? Currently I´m eagerly waiting for it. I´m looking for better overall performance with fair use in high density situations when huge amount of clients connect to a cAP ac device. It would be great to get a prospect from you, MikroTik team

beta of ROS might be released by end of the year... but no one knows what boards or hardware it will support (could even be CHRlike test with no wireless), so answer is "some time in the future", no official ETA was ever given

This is needed. All these new WAP/CAP products with the AC1200, AC1600, AC1800, AC2000 chipset.. But terrible 5Ghz performance.

I fear its due to 6.0X RouterOS using older linux Kernel, thats limitation. Unless they backport the current drivers to the older kernel or they develop drivers in-house....

Hope soon....
