How replace a failing Wireless Wire Dish unit ?

Sun Jun 16, 2019 5:34 pm

Hello,

My first Wireless Wire Dish is about to enter production in a couple of days.
Both "dishes" arrived pre-configured : one unit as master, the other as slave.

What should I prepare in case master or slave unit has a non-recoverable hardware issue ?

Ideal steps include:
- configuring spare device in a lab
- sending it on site where authorized but non-IT staff would climb on the roof and replace failed unit and align it.

Does the above make sense ?
The issues I foresee are:
- how do test in a lab without the exact sibling device ?
- is an export/import reliable enough to make sure replacement is plug and play ?

Best regards

Besides admin users, IP addresses, for normal management, etc,you will have to configure the following as a minimum to get the link up:

1. Mode: "Bridge" or "Station Bridge" depending which one you replacing
2: SSID
3: SSID Password

Yes I forgot the last two ones.
In a couple of days, I'll export both unit config and list missing items, if any.
Thanks for helping
