Hotspot Hardening

Wed Jun 19, 2019 9:01 pm

In setting up a new Hotspot i noticed that RouterOS might use MD5 as a hash function. Is there anyway i can further secure this; like say using SHA-1 or 2?. Or is MD5 hard coded and the only option?. I enabled SSL on the login page but it would be nice if the storage of Hotspot credentials could be more secure/modern. I ask this because within the system generated Hotspot directory there is a file called MD5.js, and within the HTML configuration files there are several references to MD5.

Please correct me if I'm wrong and RouterOS is only using MD5 for non essential functions, or indeed not at all.
