Connecting two LANs via two WLANs

Fri Jun 19, 2020 3:45 am

I'll soon perform this WLAN experiment: connecting two LANs via two WLANs using basic IP routing (ie. w/o any tunneling):

             WLAN1(.132.254/24) WLAN2(.142.254/24)
                   | |
    WAN1 --------- R1 R2 ------------ WAN2
                   | |
             LAN1(.131.254/24) LAN2(.141.254/24)

Routers R1 and R2 are not cable-connected with each other. Both are hAP ac^2, using just their respective "wlan1" interfaces.
They are in the same room in about 15 meters distance.

Q: How to set a route from LAN1 to LAN2 via WLAN1 and WLAN2 (and vice-versa)?
A:
R1: /ip route add dst-address=192.168.142.0/24 gateway=192.168.132.254
R1: /ip route add dst-address=192.168.141.0/24 gateway=192.168.132.254
R2: /ip route add dst-address=192.168.132.0/24 gateway=192.168.142.254
R2: /ip route add dst-address=192.168.131.0/24 gateway=192.168.142.254

Ie. can the WLANs transport also traffic that is not destined to the WLANs? IMHO should.

Will this work? Can this work?
