Add asus router as repeater

Mon Oct 19, 2020 5:51 pm

Hi all,

I have mikrotik rb4011igs+5hacq2hnd-in running ROS 6.47.4
configured with wlan1 as ap bridge.
I have an old asus router with impressive wifi power.
I configured the asus router as repeater and assign to wlan1 ssid. the asus get connected but no dhcp addresses assign to the clients the connect via the asus repeater.
The asus is inaccessable too without a cable.
I test it with cable, it works well. I nees to pair the two routers vi wifi.
What is the best practice for this?

Thanks!

same here, I want to add a ASUS RT-AC56U as a repeater because the Mikrotik hAP ac2 wifi signal is too weak. I have already add an external antenna which didn't improve the wifi signal.

It turns out that the asus as repeater didn't able to forward the MAC access lists security.
When I disabled the Mac security it works fine.

What kind of antenna did you use? Does it actually integrate two independent antennae? If it does not and you simply soldered two coaxial cables together, they you may damage your hAp ac2 by using antenna connected this way ...
