6ghz and Automated Frequency Coordination

Wed Jul 07, 2021 3:24 am

Looks like with 6ghz spectrum in North America, outdoor links are going to require Automated Frequency Coordination, which means some kind of controller. Hoping we will see something on this.

Looks like they're using HTTPS, which is pretty expected. However, this opens up problems like certificates expiring, and the fix might be to make the devices not care about certs. Then, that means I can bypass AFC checks and get more power over my devices :)

Mikrotik doesn't even have full 802.11ac support. I don't see them doing anything for the upcoming bands/ATC any time soon!

But hey I'm praying I'm wrong.
