Fri Aug 10, 2007 10:23 am

...Was just wondering; is it possible to do a remote scan/survey on an already connected client?

More information plz.
In General, when you launch a scan all connected clients will be disconnected.

Furthermore when you login to a client via wireless and start a scan, you cannot stop it anymore ;-)
Because the scan will kick you out (stopping the current associations for scanning), and you cannot stop the scan anymore.
Or perhaps it stops automatically, and you can re-login, but not see the results.

There fore there's a feature request flying around to be able to start a scan for a specific time (say 10 seconds), then end the scan (restoring normal wireless connectivity) and saving the result to a file (for review).

Best regards,

Understood from the beginning, but what I meant to ask is, is there a script that can do what cmit mentioned (i.e do a scan for 10 or 30 seconds and report rssi levels to a log file) ?

It would be a big plus to any wisp
