ACK TIMEOUT

Tue Jan 22, 2008 1:29 am

HEllo all,
i have been taking a problem with the clients, the signal is well for all -55 -72 , but in hours between 4 and 6pm the acktimeout is higher than 100 moreless 200 and 308. i've read a post where using a script, this script check this value and if the value is higher than 100, search for another channel, I moved to another channels but the result is the same, also I set the wlan of the nearest clients with less power,, How can i do??? What's the way to fix thisss.
Regards

Hai fren,
yes, when one of client goes to week of signal ack-timout is high, we thing wirelessly same as domino.
try to set ack-timeout with static value not dynamic, before set your wireless interface read manual first.
since tree years ago we used static every wireless divice. ....

Hello, thanks for your advice, my radio is NMP-8602 PLUS, Should I put a better card instead of this card??
I read the manual, and the datasheet of the card, I LOOKED A CLIENT UP WITH WEEK SIGNAL, ITS LINK IS 3KM, ALSO WHEN UNAUTHORIZED CLIENTS ARE TRYING TO CONNECT WITH MY AP THIS VALUE GOES TO THE SKY 408 for 2 or 3 sec. I CHANGED THE DEFAULT AUTHENTICATE TO "NO" . AND I SET THE ACKTIMEOUT MANUALLY to 56.
I will be checking the AP's behavior.
Regards

Hai,
that's good ide when default-authentication=no, and you must put mac-address on access-list client [cpe] for, and on connect-list [ap] to connect to your main ap.
about ack-timeout i used static value 101 until 103, and my suggestion is good for myself and my ap_2_cpe or ap_2_ap until 7-8km distances.
again, thanks Mikrotik and Teams for.

Yeap, the acktimeout is depending on the distance, i have links no more 5 km, at now my ap is working good. I wait all day long in order to check the ap.
Thanks a lot

For PTMP connections I wouldn't change the ACK from dynamic.

If you can get away with it try decreasing your power.

Hello, JWCN,
I had already decreased the power from some client's but the problem was there, so i changed the acktimeout value to 56, all links were working good yesterday , but today 2 clients are connecting and disconnecting, their links fall down every 3 or 5 mins.
<mac>@wlan1:desconnected, reassociating
wlan1 <mac> attempts to connect
Wlan1 <mac> in local acl, accept
<mac>@wlan:connected.

i understand that the all the lines means:

Happens on AP: connection assumed to be lost, because Station that is considered already associated attempts to associate again. All connection related information must be deleted, because during association process connection parameters are negotiated (therefore "disconnected"). The reason why Station reassociates must be looked for on Station (most likely cause is that Station for some reason dropped connection without telling AP - e.g. data loss, configuration changes).

is this happend by changing the actimeout value???? from dynamic to 56.????

Regards

What are you using for clients?

Drop the power at your AP.

Try 13 to see if it improves. If it doesn't or becomes worse change it back.

Hi
alexandrecorrea
i set my AP with less power from 26dbm to 23dbm, and it's working better that when was at 26dbm.

Try changing that value JWCN told you.
