Bonding or Nstreme2 on wireless link

Tue Apr 08, 2008 1:20 pm

What is a better option for doubling bandwidth on wireless link - bonding or nstreme2.
One advantage of bonding is possiblity to carry vlan's I guess. As far as throughput is concerned I got much better results with bonding. It was just tests though and I don't know what results would be in real conditions.

As far as I know, it is possible to transport VLAN by both bonding and Dual Nstreme (you can add to bridge Dual Nstreme interface).
Bonding can provide you with failover, when one of the wireless link is down.
Dual Nstreme can provide you with better latency and full duplex connection.

Or, a third alternative is two Nstreme links with OSPF to provide the best of both worlds. It seems that this one is left out in the dark most of the time but that is quite possibly the most powerful solution.

Can you point us in a direction to do such a thing, or provide us with an example config. I currently am running nstreme2, and at least twice a day I drop connection and the watchdog reboots. Support suggest a bad pci port, but in any case, we need better reliability.
