RB333 and CCQ problem ptp link 22 km

Fri Apr 25, 2008 11:26 pm

I have two RB333 (ROS 3.7) + R52H + antennas grid 28 db on 5 ghz - 22 km link point to point.
The alignment antenna is good, LOS is perfect. :D
Better TX/RX CCQ is 14/89. (?? :? ??) Signal strenght various between -83 and -89. With Btest (send or receive) I have 6 Mbps on UDP and 3 Mbps on TCP. :(
If I change frequency or TX power, situation is similar.

Why is there this difference between CCQ TX (14) and CCQ RX (89) ?

Any suggestion ?

Bye - oveda

You need to work on your signal strength. It is your problem.

Hi, sometimes this happend to me maybe you need more hight (tower) and check if another radio is not interference with your link (side RX)

what is the hight of the tower?
did you check your coaxial cable, pigtail?

mmm if your signal strenght is 83 - 89 not a good link for the distance 22km :( you should try it aling no more at 80 a good link is between 60 - 80 and you'll have a best link stable.

The hight of the tower is 30 mt TX and 20 mt RX.
I tried to change routerboards with couple wrap2 + sr5 (same antennas and same frequency) and CCQ is 70/90 and signal strenght various between -72 and -76 (now working fine). with Btest (send or receive) 24 Mbps UDP and 15 MBps TCP.

Ok Ok, SR5 is 400 mW and R52H is 350 mW,
Do you think that enough 50 mW power in more to resolve the problem?

I like my RB333's  and I want to resolve this problem.
Pigtails are OK. I must check the coaxial cables (2 mt LM400 with N/N and 4 mt LM400 with N/N) and frequency interference on TX / RX plate-

Thanks - oveda

Use the SR5's on the RB333's. I would actually suggest ordering two XR5's to make your signal even a bit better.

Could be power supply ???

In the first place (RX) is 24 Volt 0.8 mA, in the second place (TX) is 18 volt 0.8 mA.
On the second place, on the RB333, there are two miniPCI R52H that work to different frequency.

The problem seem to be on TX plate.
I check cable's and pigtails. They are OK.
Last possibility are interference, antenna more hight or power supply.

Is it possibile (for power supply) ?
