What Routerboard are you using?
What RouterOS version does it have on it?
Does it reboot as soon as you put the card in?
What voltage power supply are you using?

the dcma-82 need up to 6 watt upon initilialization and under full load.
ive seen various older mikrotik routerboard modells gone up in smoke when using these cards ...

i think 12V power supply is quite weak, i have been using this cards with RB532 and 18V 1.33A power supply successfully - but to be sure consider using a 48V 1A powersupply ...

Speaking of DCMA-82, the spec sheet says the unused antenna port should be terminated with a 10 ohm resistor. Any picture or guide on how to do that ?

I did some experimenting with the DCMA-82's in RB411's.. I have some power up and work fine, others cause the board to power off as soon as you enable the wireless card. 24 volt, 18 volt.. poe or power jack.. same results..

Mikrotik, Any ideas? If not I'll be bugging you at MUM about it so you might as well answer here..

Hello There

Can anybody tell me the adjact Tx power and the receving sencitivity of these DCMA-82 based on AR5413 chipset . Coz I just bought 12 pcs of these and now became confused . I wanted to use these with rb133 for clinets only .

Thanks

I also have some DCM-82 on RB411, RB433, and RB133. So far, nothing has rebooted. All are running OS 3.11. All are POE 24V with less then 15 meters of cable.

Gerard, did you get any feedback from MT at the MUM?

Also, does anyone actually terminate the unused antenna port? If so, do you have a source for mmcx terminations?

I don't remember what the exact answer was, but it was basically the DCMA-82's draws too much power for the rb411 to handle..

dcma-82 is an excelent card. read this : http://www.i4shop.net/cz/iObchod/2006/P ... 3_1108.pdf
the confusing part is it's only hapend in some of the RB411A ( in my case ) not all off them. if you use other series of RB ( 133/C , 333 , 433/AH , 600 ) it would work flawlessly.

I've been researching this anomaly. I found out than it only happen when you enable it in default configuration.
if you change it to B or G mode or B/g mode before you enable it it works just fine. I also push the tx power on G from 17 dB to 30 dB .... it is stil work flawlessly ( use 30dB tx power on 6 & 12Mbps only ).

Any idea to resolve this situation ????

thanks

There are definite issues with this card and RB433's. Trust me I know. :( We had several of these combinations working here in Northern British Columbia. We were noticing that a couple would flake out and start rebooting in the early morning. We sort of ignored it for a few days, but it was persistent. By 9AM the units were usually working fine again. Then the temperatures in the area fell in the middle of August. I had six rb433's all fail at the same time/same day, consistent rebooting. All were using DCMA-82's. The few that were not using DCMA-82's worked fine. We have a bunch of RB333's and there have been no issues with them.

In conclusion there seems to be two factors, the power spike on initial startup when the cards are initialized combined with temperatures of about 50 degrees (f) or colder results in constant rebooting. They seemed to reboot about 5-10 seconds after initial startup. Had some luck backing off the TX Power to 17db or so.... probably just a temporary fix though......

I have since replaced all of the DCMA-82's with 52H's and the problem has disappeared. I tried firmware upgrades... this did not help.

If you are using this combination (in warmer climates), get some R52H's in cause your going to be climbing and doing truck rolls very soon. Whee!!!

This should be easy to simulate stick one in a freezer for a couple of hours and see what happens.

Does not work with the RB411 series in 5.8GHz mode. ONLY 2.4GHz

I'also have the simmilar problem when I use the mikro standart mikrotik power supply. (the super mini 18Volt)

When I change it with 19V 3.16 Ampere power supply.....the problem just go away.
