What mini-pci should I use?

Wed Aug 20, 2008 7:15 am

Hi, what mini-pci should I use for 5.x ghz links. I'll give the gain of antenna. I want to use Super G by the way.

20dBi dual polarized antenna panel - 1.25 Km (N Stream 2)

35dBi Dish - 6.30 km

35dBi Dish - 9.30 km

20dBi dual polarized antenna panel - 3.10 km (N Stream 2)

Distances are like this. I want maximum speed and lower latency. What mini-pci cards should I use for that?

I use R52 for 25km link 32dB antena and also for 2km link with 30dB antena.
With good antena and LOS for 9,3km you can use almost any card my favorite R52 cheap and work very well.

I never use R52H. I don't need that much power. R52 with good cable and antena and of course LOS you can use on much longer distance that is 9,3km.

problem is not power. Problem is speed, with R52 may be I've less speed instead of R52H.

Power can be problem. R52 and R52H only diffrence is R52 60mW and R52H 350mW.
I don't understand why I thing you maybe have less speed ?
If you what to pay more buy R52H, you have better signals, speed can be slower is signal is too strong and you cause more intereface for you equipment and others.
Or buy R52 and R52H and compare on field.

no, if signal is ok in both cards, speed will be the same. the power will not give you more speed!

How can I understand signal is ok? is -60 dBm OK for 108 mbps 40 mhz?
