Problems with 3.14 and Atheros 5213 Chipset [Solved]

Wed Oct 15, 2008 9:32 pm

For some reason the wireless card is listing the available frequencies in 5MHz steps regardless of what Band you're set to..

Is this by design? Do I have to reconfigure my AP's that use DFS so only supported frequencies are listed? Or is this some kind of bug that was introduced recently?

I'll send in a supout.rif -- anyone else seen this?

I just installed 3.14 via Netinstall to a brand new RB600 with SR5 (AR5213 chipset) and it too lists channels in 5MHz increments.

hi,

i have seen this too, however if you to select one of the intermediate channels it does not work.

nice idea.. if it worked!
What I meant was modify the scan-list so that it only allowed you to dynamically select the channels listed scan-list=5745,5765,5785...etc. You wouldn't be able to do ranges (IE: 5745-5825) because it'd scan by 5MHz increments.

It should work just fine, I just tested it..

However my question is.. was this done by design or is it a bug?

Got a response from Mikrotik Support..

This is done by design, to give full support of channels on any band.. You simply have to change the scanlist to supported channels of your CPE equipment and then enable DFS...

So if you upgrade any DFS enabled AP's and don't have a predefined scan list.. do so before upgrading..
