5 x XR5's in RB600?

Thu Nov 20, 2008 8:18 pm

Hi There

I'm sitting with a back haul high site that must also do 360 degree coverage. Thus, 2 x backhaul wireless cards and 3 x AP wireless cards. Running XR5's. I'm tempted to do this setup with a RB600 and a daughterboard. More than enough space for the cards, but will the power supply be adequate? If this is not going to work, I'll have to do 3 x RB433AH's? Getting expensive...

Would appreciate any advice.

Thx

you only need 2 rb433ah, and you will be much better off than with a single 600.

You won't get 3 XR5's in a 433. Too thick.

If anyone has done it, I'd love to hear...

RB433's can only take 2 XR5's and when mounting equipment 50-100m up on a tower it gets expensive to run power cable up there. Using an RB600, logistically, is just so much easier and cleaner... maybe I'll try to run 4 x XR5's and 1 R52H. What kind of power supply would I need to run something like this?

Even with the daughterboard, I think you'll only get 4 XR5's in a 600. I'll dig some out when I get loose and see what it looks like.

Its not a problem to fit the cards. You'll be able to fit 6 XR5's. The problem is the power supply... I think a maximum of 4 XR5's will be safe? What do you think...?
