i have a challenging requirement as a client wants a 50 kms non line of sight point 2 point link

what would you guys suggest. i want to use only Mikrotik products and non licensed bands.

this case is from india.

how much non-line-of-sight is it? is it partial line of sight, or completely blocked by buildings around all fresnel zone?

simple answer is - it's not possible.

complicated answer - if there is only one obstacle, you could try to bend the signal, or reflect it, but it's very difficult.

and remember, there is no spoon

For 50km, you need some strong equipments. My advice is to find a place to put a repeater/corner device (rb433 with 2 cards) to retransmit the signal.

In most of the cases, it's faster and better.

hi i have studied and it seems a repeater is just not possible.

anyways i can work with a direct link with 24dBi solid parabolic and a good radio....

my question remains....which radio??

You are not going to find a working 50km NLOS link using 900MHz, 2.4GHz or 5GHz. 900MHz is only good for about 5km or less in the NLOS world.

Depends alots, try doing that in N, use highpower cards like 27dbi and 1m antenna least, for 30km link worked for me, 100% ccq, there is only about 300meters of forest which block los.

I doubt it is going to work ...

If totally blocked and you can make it work with that distance..

i think it's not possible... first of all use motorolla PTP linkplanner, there you could test it and see all the way in google earth... ptp linkplanner is free download
