STP and Network Topology

Wed Aug 24, 2005 7:15 am

Hi, anyone know a good page to repair a problem in my network at level 2... all about Bridge, STP, priorities, path and cost...
My bridge interface in my Mikrotik have Root Port: unknown and my network is with problem on DHCP to assign IPs to my clients... appear the MAC of the client in offered status, but never bound the IP...
I think all my problem is in STP of my Bridges...
Thanks

Try a Google for "5-4-3 rule" I think this maybe your problem if you have a large bridged network. You will need to split it into smaller routed subnets.

Thank for your reply, but i know that this 5-4-3 rule is for hub connections, not for layer 2 devices... i don´t have hubs, all my network have layer 2 switches 10/100... and reading in google i found it too
