PTP link with R52Hn and 4x Tetraant 23dbi

Mon Aug 09, 2010 3:49 pm

Hello

From a few days I fight with N standard and r52Hn card.
I have link ptp on 5.5 km with very good visibility.
I used RB433AH on sit B and RB433 on site A with one R52Hn cart and 4 panel antenna tetraant 23 dbi from elboxrf http://www.elboxrf.com/
http://www.interprojekt.com.pl/tetraant ... p-101.html

I have tragic results.
Used nstreme tx-power default data rates default the rest of the settings is default
HT chains check 0 and 1

For test I used channel 6000 completely free I check from site A and site B.
I check pigtails alignment antennas and I have no ideas why I have such bad results.

On the desk I have 200mbit - 5.0beta5 - nv2 nstreme

Your ccq % is pretty low. Can you test it with just one antenna on each side, maybe drop down to 802.11a and see what happens.

I change pigtails and card to R52n and the problem occurs

802.11n chain 0 and 1 check
Image
when I check only chain 0 ccq is around 85-65% and transfer is about 30 - 38 Mbps

But when I check 802.11a and check chain 0 ccq is 85-100 for receive in btest I have 36 Mbps
for send ccq is 100-86% in btest I have 36 Mbps

Image

I test with check chain 0 802.11n-only and I have ccq 90-88% btest 42Mbps/38Mbps TX/RX rate 65.0Mbps-HT/52.0Mpbs-HT
Image

I thing that is something wrong with chain 1 when I used it ccq drops dramatically (Mbps too) and after all tests I have done with R53Hn I can say that R52Hn behaves much worse than R52n

what else can I check
any ideas??

Has anything been resolved regarding this problem?

I appear to have the same problem with the R52hn cards.

I have tried everything I can think of and the when running a bandwidth test the transmitting (Sending) CCQ drops from a stable 90% right down to 2% and at most tests the connection is broken.

As far as I have seen R52Hn have amplifiers and they tend to amplify noises as well as signal and sometimes it messes them up. I believe they are good for long distance shots in desert. ;)
I have a rather good link with them and 30db dishes running at 14km distance with fair LOS.
N is fast, but sensitive - that's all to say.

I solved the problem.

RB411AH was in alubox behind one antena, when I lowered the box about 1m below antenas everything is back to normal.
