ROS 5.0 non-nv2 wireless test results

Sun Apr 03, 2011 2:50 am

Thought I would share some testing results comparing 4.16 to 5.0,

The test was done on a AP with 6 clients, Some good signals some bad ones running nstream, The Tests went like this:

CPE: 4.16 wireless AP: 4.16 wireless
CPE: 4.16 wireless-nv2 AP: 4.16 wireless-nv2
CPE: 5.0 wireless AP: 4.16 wireless-nv2
CPE: 5.0 wireless AP: 5.0 wireless

https://spreadsheets.google.com/a/trist ... utput=html

We monitored signal's and ccq's when the bandwidth test was running, Results are that ROS 5.0 is not really better or worse with nstream than 4.16. What is interesting is that when the clients were ROS 5.0 and the AP was 4.16 with the nv2 package the CPE's TX speeds dropped but when both CPE and AP were ROS 5.0 this issue didn't show

Thanks heaps for this.
I assume this is with 802.11N with 20MHz wide channel.
What sort of antenna are you using on the clients?

Yes 20mhz, It was a mix of SXT's and 19dbi's IIRC

Given I said SXT's yeah 5ghz, the band or the speed is not important what is important is the differenced between ROS versions and the impact it has on link stability and throughtput
