Mixed a/n Clients on OmniTIk behaviour

Fri Aug 19, 2011 3:46 pm

I am planning to set up the OmniTik as replacement for some PtP Links.
However the customers are not more than 1.5km Away from the central station and use different hardware for their PtP-Links:
RB433 5GHz-A (R52 Wireless Card)
RB711 5GHZ-N 40MHz single chain
RB-SXT 5GHz-N 40MHz dual-chain

How well will a PtMP setup using the OmniTik as central AP work
while handling the following three different wireless modes at the same time:
A
N single chain
N dual chain

Will there be any difficulties using different wireless modualtions, bandwidths, and chains at the same time?

I like to use NV2.

Also I will extend the future usage to up to 15 Customers with the RB-SXT.

I replaced one side of a 1km SXT to SXT link with an Omnitik. The Omnitik saw the SXT at around 90db and couldn't register a connection at all. hopefully you have better luck!

SXT has a higher gain antenna, so of course signal will not be as good with OM+SXT as with SXT+SXT
