PPPoE server: ether1, bridge1 or both should set proxy-arp?

Sat Nov 12, 2005 8:29 pm

Hi!

I'm going to install a server with MT 2.9.6

(ether1) (Wlan1 AP)
( bridged as bridge1)

I have both pppoe and normal ethernet users through wlan AP.

Wich interface should I set proxy-ARP on??? bridge1 ether1 or both????

Regards NoXy

You told us nothing about your IP configuration on these interfaces (ether and wlan-ap), or even if you have configured IP for these interfaces at all.
Since proxy-arp is a Layer 3 / IP concept, your question is meaningless without this information.

okay

So bridge1 has address 10.1.0.10
client connecting through pppoe has ip from 10.1.0.0/24 subnet

clients using simple ethernet connection (WLAN, no PPPoE) 192.168.1.0/24

regards
