Hehe, it's very strange and again your signal on 2km is very-very good!
You didn't tell us is it g or a? Anyhow signal is too good for 2km!!!
What antennas you use?
What cards you're using?
If it's g, my guess is that you are using boosters and noise is making you a problem.
You said that signal is -25 to -30 which should not differ so much, it should remain stady with -1 up or down not 5.
Cheers m8

Bad Bandwith on link with good signal

Tue Feb 07, 2006 1:18 am

So I updated to 2.9.12 and changed a lot in configuration. Now I get 15 Mbps out of the link, but not more. I can see now that the link has a signal noise of 58 db. I am using Mikrotik parabolic dishes with 30 dbi and 5m antenna cable. The Signal going up and down slowy.

My configuration on these router is:

0 R name="wlan1" mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0B:6B:35:E3:86 arp=enabled
disable-running-check=no interface-type=Atheros AR5213

second router:

0 R name="wlan1" mtu=1500 mac-address=00:0B:6B:35:E5:75 arp=enabled
disable-running-check=no interface-type=Atheros AR5213

nstreme and polling is enabled, frame size is set to dynamic

on both sides are working 3300 Sempron, with 512 MB Ram and with CM9 cards. Please give me some input for this problem.

You should do "/system reset" as you have been changing settings that you know nothing about. Basic-rate should be left at their default.
